Thanks for covering this and giving us your thoughts. I didn't think of it on the spot but I think the game can be summarised by the following: There are 8 active tiers in WW2. There are 9 active tiers in CW. Era 3 is an en masse demolition derby. Era 2 is a bagel / ATGM fest making any stock grind torturous. Era 1 is 4005 territory. Tier 10 has broken tanks like the AVRE, Taran and Ruthless. Tier 9 has to deal with the above pulling off across the map snap shots that take you for 1300 HP. Tier 8 suffers from the same thing as tier 9. So of the 17 active tiers available to us, 12 of them are no enjoyable to play; that's 70.58% of their game. Add to that the latency issues and the ghost rounds that are game wide, and you end up where we are now; and this is all before we talk about everything else like premium prices, the MM, power creep, etc. They need to cut the crap and give us some solid gameplay updates.

+2-2 matchmaking needs to be removed as of 6 years ago tier 8s meeting tier 10 is just absolutely ridiculous

Who doesnt like getting snapshot by tarans, or auto targetted by ai contolled arty, or matches where your entire team is potatoes and you end up losing 14-1?

There are no ai controlled arties in game. Bots does not play arty thats first. Second: theres no AI in this game. No machine learning algorithms in here. Just a casual IT algorithms.

Premium tanks used to be slightly more powerful tanks you would buy to train a commander, earn extra silver, or have a slight edge in battle or a unique mechanic. Now, power creep and an unbalance of premium tanks to tt tanks has made some of the weaker tanks unplayable. I feel Wargaming could find new ways to get people to spend money on the game, such as access to “premium custom game features”, a special pass that’s like a season pass but has thousands of levels and never goes away, or other things. Not just premium after premium, the next one better than the last.

Premium tanks used to be made to be slightly better than stock tanks but not as strong as fully upgraded tanks. That’s why old school tanks like the super Pershing and some other tier 8 premiums had around 160-175 penetration. They were supposed to be crew trainers but they weren’t meant to be overpowered or better than tech tree tanks to keep the game from being pay to win. To wargaming’s credit, they have given us a bunch of ways to earn free tanks and free premium goodies, whereas in 2014 you had to spend real money to have access to these things. WOT is nowhere near the game it used to be back then, but it feels like for every 2 steps forward they take 1 step back, and that’s what people focus on the most. They almost don’t give them credit for every little game mechanic and feature that had to be implemented months and years after the original release. But I guess not everyone was around back when we didn’t have perks and skills, or marks of excellence to name a few things. I went on a bit of a tangent from premium tanks, but it reminded me of how this game was adapted to console and the true purpose of premium tanks in the first place 😔

I've been playing this game for almost 8 years, and I've sent over 1000 dollars in stuff on this game. I had a lot of health problems that have caused me to have double vision in both eyes. Yes, I have quad vision. So I still can play world of tanks. I feel Luke not playing anymore. These guys said exactly how I feel.😢

Ive left the game now. Im on to a new game, world of tanks started as a fairly historically accurate game, then it got greedy and morphed into a total shat show. From Mercs onwards it was on a slow demise. 50 plus pounds for a pixel tank! Its a disgrace, no tank should cost more than a tenner at a push!

Premium tanks should award more XP for the crew and /or a silver bonus. Otherwise, no extra advantages with armor gun, etc.

Its a sad topic but its time for change i ❤ luv rikies video 👌 right to the point couldn't agree more community getting burnt out the way things are its a shame that the company is divide hopefullythey can get on the right path .... on behalf of all the community we want change 10 years ive been playing its 😢 sad to see a game you love make all the wrong decisions i hope things get better because im struggling to find motivation to play .........eclipse & riki need to have a meeting with people at wargaming big time to get these current issues ironed out ... all the best eclipse 🤜🤛 glad ur back

They need to fix the matchmaking - I'm tired of the majority of games being over in less than three minutes. It's not uncommon to lose a game where the other team still has 11+ tanks on the battlefield. I see players at all tiers driving nose-to-nose with the enemy and throwing their tanks away, either that or they camp in the base and get spotted and killed having hardly fired a shot. It's just not enjoyable to be in these games, on either side. How some of these players get to Tier 10 is beyond me, as they know nothing about using cover or any of the other techniques which would keep them in the game for a bit longer. Also - get rid of double arty in games; one arty is a pain, but two is just awful - you can spend an entire game pinned down by them, with no escape if they decide to stay zeroed in on you.

Perhaps they're depending on the sunk cost fallacy too much. Just because I've spent too much money on this game doesn't mean I won't uninstall it when it gets bad enough.

Agreed. I, and other guys I know, had a lot of time and money into Wargaming's WOW. I stopped playing that game for a couple of reasons. Sky Cancer known as carriers over there and the camp and hide at the back of the map gameplay style. I don't miss that game one little bit. Sorry for the long ramble, but you struck a nerve. Sky Cancer and the hide at the back for as long as possible gameplay style is destroying WOT console too.

I understand World of Tanks has been in decline for the past couple years! Look how many people have left this game in the past 5 years! (Graph it out) Now we have bots, now we have newbies who don't know how to play buying tier 10 tanks! The game is in serious decline, people are moving to War Thunder, or other games. Veteran of 10 years. I stopped buying tanks, and do not play Cold War tanks at all. Thanks, you do a great job!

Playing this game for more than 8 years and I decided to skip the last two seasons as I got burned out as Riki stated, I just don't feel fun playing it anymore... I'd say the peak of the game is the 3 months before 6.0, and it declines steadily afterward. Ghost shells, matchmaking, map rotation, etc., the overall quality of life in the game is deteriorating. I don't even want to talk about those stupidly brainless overpowered premium tanks. I just hope one-day, WarGaming will improve their game so I can come back and have some after-dinner fun, it's just unenjoyable for me nowadays, the core essence of the game had been lost to the power creep, and greed.

Love your videos and have learned a lot on how to play the game from your videos, been playing for a year with over 26,000 battles, with an improving average win rate until Premiums with auto loaders and one shot cannons got introduced in the game. Don’t get me started on artillery which actually forced me to play Cold War Attempting to improve your skill level is useless now. I also used to love playing this game, but I’m finding other things to look forward to. I’m a retired, mechanical product design engineer, having spent my entire career here in high-tech in Silicon Valley most of that time working for one of the toughest, but most dedicated CEOs who used to ask us during our design reviews, “is this the best you can do?” if he thought it wasn’t your design was modified to what he wanted or shelved. in this case, we are Jobs, we are the customer, so, Wargaming…. is this the best you can do?

I'm curious to hear WG answer these questions. Hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst. Good luck guys.

I saw a recent video from a PC WOT CC who, among other things, in a kind of state of the union address, said there is presently a gross monification of the game. Wargaming is trying to milk as much money from their player base as possible. That has always been so, of course, but not to the degree we are witnessing now within the game. This he said was the same route taken by other developers who ended up shutting down their games. The window between gross monification and a complete shutdown is 1-2 years, he said. Now, to be clear, he wasn't saying that was going to happen to WOT. But the declining player base combined with other factors, including $$$, was worrisome. I agree. The game is in trouble. The proliferation of bots, particularly on the NA server, is a clear indication that the end is near, in my opinion. Or that they want to drive players towards a new game and a new source of revenue for them in a new Wargaming title. Project Cold War PC anyone?

I was talking about these issues for years and I was told to get good. I'm glad people are starting to see the issues.

I think they need some serious feedback, IN PERSON, at tankfest. Atleast then they cant hide from it and pretend it doesnt exist. And thats coming from me... i love this game so much, if you check my past comments you can see how i defend it, offer ways to help it, ect ect. But its past time for suggestions, we need wargaming to change, something, anything. Id give up weekly updates if it meant that theyd actually listen. I just hope the community is able to let them know how we feel, because wot deserves better, we deserve better. If you or anyone you know goes to tank fest, please let wargaming know that our criticisms arent hate, its us showing that we care. Evidently more than some at wargaming anyway.

🛑🛑 I’m sorry, my biggest gripe is the CONSTANT Corridor Maps and City Maps within the game. Heavy Tanks always have a place to play on every map, whereas Light Tanks have to make do. Example…Hidden Village, half the map is NOT accessible. 🤷‍♂️💯

Basically, if WOT Console was a Restaurant, it would be on Kitchen Nightmares. Also Googles Steak Pie

We took in the cat after it's owner died and he's a Bengal cat. He'll probably make an appearance at some point on the camera 😂

So I played the game for about 5 days. I just stopped because it's simply not fun. Since I lost the free premium account, I pretty much only get negative amount of money each game. There's also so much crap the game doesn't tells you, like that consumable cost money to resupply and bullet too. I also realized there was a world war 2 settings with "more realistic" tanks. I never knew that you had to aim at specific part of the tank to actually damage it. Cold war is just, you shoot once you mostly kill something. Also you mostly get killed in one shot.

Obviously the game has issues, like any game. But WG does give us things. My biggest complaint is tye rng algorithm, and the horrible match-making. Half, AT LEAST, the games end like 12 or 13 to 0.

I know it's off topic but can you shoot down missiles fired at you does anyone know?

I think bigger brand new maps would be a good start, maybe grand battles 30v30 , nighttime/ weather maps which could be selected, dual mode casual or competitive, fix matchmaking,

I think you and Rikki have described how i feel about the game very well. Burnt out. Not because I've played for 10 years, but because of the monetisation push and lack of gameplay improvements. Cashing in on us while times are tough will backfire on WG. We need them to do better. Respect the voice of the players. And they really need to sort out the new player experience or they won't get any new players.

So name me a few things a player will complain about and you constantly hear that same question over and over by others “ do they care?” For years it was about artillery being op , ghost shots now these op premium tanks for the last few years . This would be nothing if one or two players were complaining about same issue or issues. Yet I hear the same issues repeated by many players and for many years . So does WG care ? Sure they do but about revenue let’s resell the taran , AVRE or weasel… Go to their stream and you won’t hear them address any of the real concerns that need addressing but you’ll see them laughing and having a good ole time with popular well liked streamers … So “does WG care?”

Well, you need to understand. What went on in 2015 there was a game called Armored Warfare And wargaming actually bought that game and did a lot of testing with it Eventually, war gaming killed Armored Warfare off no one plaes that game anymore And they are do the same Things that they did in that game to WOT And if you actually look all those tanks over on Armored Warfare Are actually ported in WOT patch notes dont lie I've been playing. This game for 10 years And i've actually have been banned from the community form a number of times for trying to address problems and ask them questions I have literally been threatened by wargaming for not spending money and Other various things like using the game mechanics and actually breaking them War gaming does not want veteran, Players or even wise players in their game. What do I mean by this? #1 You used to be able to do the contracts and get free premium time by never completing the contracts. #2 Tank trade in event. Yes, it's a rip-off but if you know how to go About it, actually very beneficial when that event actually occurs. So what I did and a lot of my other friends used to do . We used to Trade, a tank in that was in the season, so We would actually never lose the tank. We would just get it right back. War gaming will actually threaten to ban your account if you do that. #3 Why spend money on premium tanks when you can just go through this season and get them anyways? I have actually gone through a lot of this stuff with ppl on forms. War gaming will not fix the bot issue. If a bot suspects you being there, it will actually shoot at you and pen you. Other issue is that if you are on a winning team, you don't even have to shoot the tank with at all you all you have to do is shoot by it and it will blow up. War gaming is running world of tanks on a shoestring budget. What I mean is they want the money but they actually don't want to invest it to make better content. Or address issues, the game is only good enough. So the short answer Is war gaming only cares about $$$ not you And they do. Not want veteran players or wise players. They only Want new players or Players that don't know much to take advantage of.

Wargaming was not part of Armored Warfare. Armored Warfare was created by MailRU and developed by Obsidian. MailRU killed the contract with Obsidian and the game died. I actually really liked AW when it had players. Maybe you know something I don't - but I can't find anything that supports your claim about WG buying AW, which I have looked at several times over the years. Can you provide a cite for this? We also must remember where WOT console fits in the bigger picture. WOT PC is the version they (WG) care about. World of Warships, WoWs Legends, and WOT Console are just revenue streams to support their primary game (WOT PC) and their bank accounts. Its just that simple.

I understand what you are saying WG did Not initially Develop armored warfare It was created by Wishlist games then developed obsidian entertainment Yes, some of the stuff you are saying is true. But we're gaming. You did buy it. For $100 million Which a lot of people did say it was a April Fools' joke. But in reality it was not a joke WG did buy it not For the game strictly for the developers because WG Fired a lot of their developers in the earlier days. And they did run secret testing with Armored warfare.

My friends and I come back to this game then stop, then come back. I would like to see in game chat. I think it had it before can't remember. Also i have enough friends to make an entire team not just 3. I think it was more back in the day. Also i wish the E25 don't see teir 9 tanks, it just can't compete with these tanks at all.

This whole video can be summed up by positive and negative algorithms. The fact people think anything else is an issue makes me laugh. Eclipse please ask wg why i keep winning and losing on the same days every week 😂

The game used to be on a roll, we had WAR STORIES and i tought it was just the beggining, that thye were going to add more stuff to it and even newer game modes!, i saw comming that eventually we were going to finally play with more cold war and modern tanks it had to happen, but this is not how i saw it comming, It was mostly the 6.0 update that changed everything, and i believe something happened in Wargaming CONSOLE that they just stopped caring, first it was the warstories thing they demolished, then the mercenary tanks was a cool idea, altough a bit flawed with OP tanks like the Machine pre nerf, but it was something new! Now they just want to sell STUPID GARAGE GEAR (SERIOUSLY IF YOU CARE ABOUT THIS YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM), also the even More idiotic 3D COMMANDERS (if i am in the top 3 i want to see my tank with the marks and camo it has not a dumb animated toy covering it up, SURE I WANT AN ALIEN OR A PROSTI.... COSPLAYER WITH BIG BOOBAS DOING NOTHING (IF YOU LIKE THIS YOU ARE ALSO THE PROBLEM). WE WANT MAPS! GAME MODES, MORE CAMOS, MORE TANK CUSTOMIZATION, BETTER NETWORK, A MORE BALANCED GAME AND BALANCED TANK, WE DON'T WANT THE OLD TANKS TO BE REBALANCED TO COMPETE WE WANT THE AWFUL OP TANKS TO GET NERFED AS INTENDED.

My best World of Tanks Console experience didn't actually happen in-game. WG used to have a forum and skimped on moderation. Cue one angry gamer, bored of being ignored, spending an entire night posting BBC on every thread. Not all heroes wear capes.

good video. I feel the same way about much of the WoT discussion. I have played approx. 90,000 games over 10 years. I too feel like I no longer happily play the game. I find that I often, end my sessions in anger over the current state of play. When I began WoT play, I was interested in the true-to-history tanks put in the game. Wargaming stressed, in a promo video, that the tanks in the game were drawn from tanks used on the battlefields across the world, prototype tanks and blue-print tanks. After years of play, it seems that learning the game (tanks, armor and terrain) has mostly gone out the window. The influence of the Cold War style gameplay has leaked into the WWII side of the game to the detriment of the WWII game. In addition, I believe that Wargaming did the right thing when they balanced arty taking away their ability to one shot kill but it seems they immediately undid their good deed by introducing a large number of tanks with the ability to one/two shot-kill most other tanks (Taran, Ruthless, Avre, etc., etc.). Instead of rebalancing these tanks I believe the answer should be as follows, if you want to play a Ruthless, that’s fine but you will only be put into games with other tanks like the Ruthless, Avre, Taran, FV4005, Deathstar and the other cartoon tanks, etc. Only the Deathstar and FV4005 can play in the regular tier 10 lobby and only 1 per team.

I have introduced a dozen people to WOT over the years I have been playing (8). Only 1 still plays. EVERY other player got to tier 5ish (2 got to t8, 1 got to t9) and abruptly quit because of artillery. Artillery WAS nerfed. Now arty feels like it just has a 2x fire rate. Just last night I saw a MAUS get hit for 1100 AND get set on fire. Lost almost half of its HP. It was straight up sad. In low tier, you can get perma tracked by any arty. Arty should not even be in the game until tier 6. The only matches I have fun in anymore are matches without the AVRE and without arty. That's depressing. Superheavies should have an innate damage reduction against arty. AND it should be very significant and stack with spall liner. Mediums should take normal damage. Lights should take extra damage. The fact that I see a light get hit for 400 and then seconds later a heavy get hit for 400 by the same arty is laughable.

Also there are way to many tanks that are locked which makes no sense. I do knows lots of friends that have stoped playing so war gaming needs to wake up.

When I critizise WG I care about their decisions and the direction the game is going as a whole, not that there is individuals that might disagree with it. When I say Wargaming is not listening I mean the same, if they always say they hear you, but nothing ever changes they obviously do not care what you have to say. That is what I told Riki. When we talk about WG not caring nobody is debating if wg likes to make money or that they would like to keep the game alive for as long as it makes a profit. Do they care about taking their time developing the game to make it as good as possible long term? Obviously not. Instead they use all their resources spamming out overpriced and overpowered premium tanks to farm their playerbase as much as possible while giving away free stuff to keep people playing a bit longer

Also, no, WG don't care - not about concerns, anyway. It's been nearly a decade, and they've been consistent ignoring feedback. Anyone wanting to test this just needs to hit a dev stream and give some reasonable feedback. Crickets

Look, im not really a person who complains. Ive enjoyed the game for the greater majority over the past 10 years. Ive endured through the change to modern armor when others wouldn't and i maintain that the game has fun aspects. However, recently (past year or so) I found it difficult to enjoy the game in most cases as more and more ridiculous pay to win tanks are introduced like the Rogal Dorn or Taran that give even new players an edge. Decline in fun modes like Mars mode. The silver economy no longer makes sense. They give millions of silver to Coldwar games and we lose silver in most games in WW2. These are only a few examples.

I watched Rikis video and I haven't finished this before I made this comment but do WG care? Yes. But not 100%. IF you want WG to act about the things we as a community want then we need to stop spending money. Remember the War Thunder boycott? Gaijin took action in I think 2 weeks time. EA did the same with Madden when people stopped buying it and making money. EVERY company/business ever wants money and to be in profits. It's capitalism. So if we as a community stop spending money. All money. Then WG WILL take action and talk to us. That's the truth. Are we as a community going to come together to stop spending money? Maybe. But it needs to be discussed

I just got back to the game. Did they nerf premium earnings. I swear it was 2X everything, and now it's like .75X only

Update 6.0 killed this game. Before 6.0 the game was fun clans were maxed out and players were buying tanks to train crews and stay competitive in the game. 6.0 came and the player base dropped a lot. They will never come back from the 6.0 decision. The company is cheap. There should be new maps constantly more maps keep the game fresh. They only care about your money and that's it. Start a boycott to stop spending any money on the game then maybe they will listen. Until they lose money nothing will change.

I just wish if a round can pen 150mm it should pen 150mm NOT an RNG deciding IF it pens oblique angles yes MAY bounce not WILL bounce. Also the Russian bias that does exist needs to go away. Also 60 US dollars for a non physical tank that you will never get your money back for and if wargaming goes under your just SOL. When I started playing 7 years ago this game was fun but now it's lacking. I used to get in loads of trouble at home because I'd play tanks instead of what I needed to be doing but it's not that much fun anymore. Oh and you CANT make silver in WW2 ESPECIALLY after tier 7.

The main question is this : is this game still playable? Personally I do not think so, because the game is highly unbalanced.

I made console video for a lot longer and made pc on the side occasionally but time is a bit of a constraint right now with working full time plus having another channel which is doing super well. Got to get into a good rhythm but I may end up with more PC content coming instead of console in the next few months
