I kinda agree with the female judge on the panel. The ending notes and pronunciations are important in singing, especially if you're at that level of the competition.

Lavinia is 100% spot on and I agree with her. Em tok tru ya,yupla maski koros na pilim pen nating. It's coming towards the end of the competition and the singers need to polish up on how they sing each word.Make sure they pronounce the words with all the letters included, Singing is NOT all about having a big voice or high pitches,it's also about pronunciation.. As a random judge myself that was on Vocal Fusion a few years ago bottom line is judges want to help the vocalists improve themselves. Pronunciation is important but probably not the most important in a multilingual nation like PNG. It was a minor point in an otherwise impressive performance... one or 2 pitchy moments but hell even Mariah Carey & Celine Dion can be pitchy too...lol...

Vocal fusion is a waste of time... It would be more approriate if Quiz shows like, "Who wants to be a millionaire or Hot seat" are produced. Literally I've grown up watching digicel stars or vocal fusion for this matter. And what puzzle me is where are the winners now? Had they went on to produce a label or solo album? Love you, but pronunciation and clear diction of lyrics are an essential element for any vocal performance not just being in tune and having a big voice. Any judge who knows their stuff in any singing competition will say this. The female judge, Lavina Williams is world class, the real deal, a full time professional artist with masses of experience and PNG is lucky to have this calibre working with our artists. And her heart is really, genuinely 100% in for lifting our industry to world standards. Plus, O4 is in fact saying the exact same thing as Lavina regarding diction and pronunciation. They are doing this young vocalist a massive service with their constructive criticism that will really help her improve and grow. You're an absolutely brilliant comedian though.

Totally agree. I did study music and had voice training, thus the lady judge's comment was spot on. Anywhere on the planet on the big stage, this is essential stuff. Pretty basic to be honest, so yes, it's exposure for some of our aspiring singers

The lady judge doesn't even know how to judge......how people pronounce the words gives that song a personality and a character to it that makes an art out of the song...... But anyways Do some more reaction to those PNG talents and help our Wantoks being recognized for their talents.

The lady Judge and O-for got a point. I keep hearing a song that goes like " I am a friend of Gah" Thats what its sounds when png worship teams sing. Supposed to be "God" Another song at times sung "off" originally is "With-holding nothing" One central bro doing good with all the vocals and accents until that line and phonetically he sings "wi-tol-di-nating" So someone listen to this English song might question " what didn't we tell Him". yeh always sounds like "we told him nothing" and that's what I heard from little kids when they would repeat that song on their own free time. Awesome voice. Not sure if there's a problem with the judge's hearing. She hit the notes and that's important. Even if you tryna correct the "emphasis" of the word "wheel", I thought in english we put the emphasis on the vowel???? So is it the eeeeeee.....or the llllllll🤦‍♂️! Well, one way also we don't move forward is we don't encourage our local talent to explore their potentials!!!!

Bro like your videos. For this one, yes the spelling is very important and she was right. It's something I've learnt and still learning. The thing with VF this year though, is they couldn't advise/support contestants to find someone in each province that knows how to use a DAW to record the vocals. It's 2021 and we get people recording themselves in some phones. Poor audio quality and that is what's judged

The female judges have always been biased when a singer wants to try out a very big song. There is no music school in PNG, yet they call out singers to the talent show, even the amount of money they give is trash, get these singers onto the international platform not just here in PNG and the PACIFIC. Vocal Fusion judges needs qualification as singers and should be in a position to promote these singers after the show.

First of all its not a dumb comment. Secondly everyone can see that she has a very strong vocal range but if u can't get slight details right then your singing is gabage. If she was singing on XFactor Simon will criticize her to the point that you'd cry for her. Im glad the Judge hit it spot on. Judges need to be this critical to help talent improve. This is one reason PNG is way back because we settle for less.

I understand what she was trying to say, but like you said, constants bringing much money to the show etc...she should have constructed her comment well and still bring out the same point. I really hate that way of speaking to Papua New Guineans too, it doesn't matter how much you try to say your a Papua New Guinean, we you speak like this to one (compared to O-Four), you can really see how they also can discourage talents from wanting to out from hiding.

Better getting grilled and critiqued by Judge and Mentoring Coach Lavina, preparing these potentials for the World. She doesnt have to be a Judge on this show but chooses to be part of it as PNG is one of the most underated cultures in the World with the biggest hearts and none of the other pacific nations are doing shows similar. The selection process and auditions have nothing to do with Lavina, and has to work with what PNG Vocal fusion staff have chosen so it must be a huge challenge to push these brave contestants.
