Screen Junkies love both characters but I’m rooting for Godzilla. I’m sure I’ll feel sympathetic for Kong too. Everyone underestimates Kong, but I’m saying he’s gonna bring the house. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kong won. I’m just excited to see these two go at it on the big screen again!

I don’t know why any of you bother to go to those movies in the first place? People complain to Disney for doing them and yet they still go to watch them to complain. Screen Junkies always state something like that for the humour/controversy of the video (Since it's an "Honest Trailer"). Doesn't necessarily mean that it's the majority's view or the view of the specific individual. A lot of their videos are balanced both humorously tearing into the movie whilst praising the movie low key.

In Kong v. Godzilla, Kong will have Godzilla in a near death situation until Godzilla says "Must...save...Mothra..." Then Kong will say "Why did you say that name?" and they'll realize they both had friends named Mothra. Then they'll team up to fight a resurrected Mecha-Ghidora. And then Wonder Woman shows up, I think...it's gonna be a super original plot line.

I wasted two hours watching the movie when I could've just read this comment.

From the moment it started with The King's roar, till the post-Credit moment wrapped it up, I was grinning like a mad man. Mothra was so beautiful I shed tears, Godzilla was mighty, King Gidorora was terrifying, Rodan was glorious and the humans were alright.

Ummm... it didn't disappoint audiences. Every fan I've talked to loved it.

I don't care what anyone says. This is a Godzilla movie for fans. And as a Godzilla fan, I loved this movie.

Yeah, Honest Game Trailers Mortal Kombat was also wrong when it said the 3D era bankrupted the company. I've recently discovered that is the exact opposite.

i mean the human scenes were so cringe it really got me bored. if these were a super cut of just the monster fights and explanations, then I wouldn't have gotten bored. Those fucking few intercessions of human drama made me wanna check my phone or just go to the bathroom for a bit. Never felt that watching a movie in a cinema before.

​​@@Giran023it's a great movie no complaints. CGI, music, fights, everything is perfect. Every time some good fantasy movie comes out, purist "fans" like you come ranting out on how it's a bad movie because it doesn't fit with the canon but people still love it lol. Same happened with Godzilla 1998. It got so much hate from Godzilla fans even though it was an okay movie.. the CGI wasn't great, the acting was bad but most people still liked it.

4:03 ah that inception reference was great

"Hail Hydra" and "Mexico Wild Wings" are pretty fitting descriptions for Ghidorah and Rodan XD

Imo the only bad segments were the ones with the humans. Everything else was god-tier! And you barely mentioned Ghidorah or his dumb left head. Cmon, man :(

I'm not surprised he focused on the people and skipped over the monsters. The whole point of honest trailers is to mock a movie. The parts of the movie that put the monsters front and center and actually pretty good, and therefore harder to make fun of. But the human characters where awful. I hated the entire family at the center of the story and others like Charles Dance and Ken Watanabe were underdeveloped and wasted.

King of the monsters may not be a great film, it brought back a lot of my childhood Gojira memories and was exactly what I expected in a monster movie. I wish there were more Mothra appearance though

I pick the IMDB one, the one that isn't gated by a theatrical verification scheme and so isn't as heavily skewed towards the fans who want to take the effort to promote the movie. Or the CinemaScore, since that is the only properly randomized poll.

2014 Godzilla had more frames of the Kaiju than the old movies ever had.

They both had boring and tedious human screentime for ~80% of the runtimes. The difference is that the 2014 movie focused on uncompellingly written human characters while keeping the monster in the background until the climax, while the 2019 one had the human character deliver tedious exposition dump after exposition dump to explain the plot, and treated them essentially as plot devices with very little character focus while still trying to pass them off as main characters.

2:10 Ok i know that, like cinema sins, this channel is comedy and shouldn't be taken too seriously. But, however, that being said, how can anyone call this movie boring? Also, the complaint about "not enough godzilla" in the 2014 film was legit, but this movie doesn't "over compensate", it gives fans what they want and does it just right. In other words, to fans, this movie was awesome! (I do agree though that Sally Hawkins shouldn't have been killed off at all, let alone the way she was).

Nah, it wasn't boring. Had a ball watching this last summer.

Good points. And all of them were neutralized just watching scaly boi display a single intimidation tactic.

I love the stare-ing compilation in these godzilla honest trailer.

This is clearly not a masterpiece, but it’s one of the most consistently entertaining movie I’ve seen. It’s strange that people complained about a lack of Godzilla in the first one, but complain about too much Godzilla in this one.

@Nicolaus Volentius I don't think a flashback to ancient time would have been a good idea. Monarch just recently discovered the hollow earth in kotm. I think the only way to do a flashback is have godzilla get a flashback, but then that would also be weird.

Well on rotten tomatoes critics says 43 percent and regular fans say 83 percent so yea most of us liked it

I don’t know if I’m proud or disappointed you guys didn’t turn “Kaiju hijinks” into “kaijinks”. I’m lying, of course I know I’m disappointed.

The starring monster names were absolutely hilarious,.especially Mothra's 😂😂

They forgot that the Summer was full of blockbusters so it was either "Let's try something new like this Godzilla movie or see the big finale of the MCU: End Game." And seeing how the Asian market Carried and Kong vs Godzilla is going to have a few weeks uncontested, we will see it get going.

@@3godzilla3 The original Godzilla was horrible about cutting away. However, KotM more than made up for it. Cut aways are inevitable in giant monster movies like this, and KotM was not bad in this category.

@@muscledoggs566 Except the original Godzilla didn't have monster fights. This movie was supposed to build up to an epic showdown at the end of the film with JUST monsters, just like the Heisei films. But we didn't get that. Gojira is not the movie to compare this to, as that was one movie that did it's own thing anyway. A majority of the Godzilla films never had this long cutaway issue.

Underwhelmed audiences? Uh, no. Maybe critics, but most of them complained in the first one about not enough monsters, then in this one about too many monsters, so I think their opinions can be safely discounted.

Critics didn’t say too many monsters ok ? Speak before you actually read something if its true.

Please say “Why do I have to go to Grandmas Funeral? She’s not gonna go to mine”

My theory is that the guy who made this video is an old man. He's like my grandpa, no matter how awesome the movie is, its going to be boring cuz he always fall asleep half way through the movie.

the comments have thought me one thing: if you love godzilla, you will love this movie if you don't, you won't.

Literally my favorite fictional thing, have the showa to millenium eras down almost line for line (and 84 is the best fight me), loved Shin, even have a soft spot for 98 as a disassociated monster movie... ...still hated this movie. And 2014. They're just above Son of Godzilla for me.

Nope, king of the monsters has really bad cut and boring story telling. If you want to know what is the really good balance between human drama and monster actions, go to watch first Godzilla (1954 ver).

Definitely not boring. I think the fights were a great show especially the end fight when Gojira went full thermonuclear!!! Epicccccc🤯🤯🤯

Loved every fight scene in this. I would watch this in imax again if I could

I miss those Honest Trailer "Twilight Stares" segments.

critiques worshippers, godzilla haters, people who are toxic godzilla fans and can't get over the past and some jealous star wars and marvel fans. not all of em, but some of em. and that's it.

Godzilla King of the monsters was awesome! We wanted more monsters and that’s what we got, no one should be complaining.

Thicc Lizzy is gonna be the name of my new pet iguana, if I ever get one.

And when they find them S T A R E like a fish that washed up on dry land. XD
