I have upgraded and think it’s more than worth it. The OG was great but the OLED just makes it so much better.

Why spend $700 on oled when you can buy an rog ally which is 20x better than the oled and cost the same 🫵🏽🤡

I upgraded and it was soooooo worth it. The screen is so much better, the battery is amazing and the fan/heat is greatly improved. Easily worth it for me

Absolutely, I got the LE ass well so I have 1TB to work with which is perfect for a handheld. Games like Hades look and play so good.

@@Mark-qj5kp yeah sell the LED and get the OLED, thats what I did. Totally worth it if you want the SteamOS console type ecosystem/fucntionality - miles better experience than legion go/ally windows mess. Ignore this tech jock, he hasnt thought his advice through at all.

I have always have been interested owning a Steam Deck when it was first released. When they announced the OLED SD, I know i have to buy the OLED instead of the OG LCD ones. I was surprised how intuitive the desktop environment. I pretty much expect what would the performance of the device but it exceeded my expectation. I did bring my SD to my workplace and the battery life is better that I thought. Overall, it's worth the price. It's going to be my go to portable computer from now on.

I used my launch deck daily I was happy to sell it and pick up a new 1tb Oled. I feel like it was well worth the update.

Same. It was worth it for the battery life alone for me. 40 minutes increase in Bauldurs Gate 3 is huge. 1.5hrs to 2.25 hours makes a difference.

Ive had mine for a couple weeks now, the thing I like alot is how the settings for best performance can be shared around since the hardware is standardized.

If you need an AI to tell you whether or not you can afford something, you have bigger problems beyond financial.

Will get steam deck oled 512gb So there is still a chance for Thumb stick drift ? Also a bit concerned about the dead pixels and headphone jack issues. Are the new batch of steam decks have less issues that i mentioned ?

It would be pretty genius for Valve to let people trade in their lcd steam decks for 200-300 in steam credit to put towards the oled and just sell all the trade ins as refurbished. SO many people would do it

I’m so happy I held out since the OG. Just like the Switch, I skipped the LCD entirely and went direct to OLED. I think I’m going to do the same with the Steam Deck

I've also upgraded and its worth it guys. Just do it. The battery life itself is much better and looks better. The fan doesnt go off as much either. Just notice that the thumbsticks are a tad bit wider. So some thumbpads you have might now work if they were snug.

It always crashes and most don’t turn on out of the box you need to press a combination of buttons to reboot the battery.

If you got the Limited Edition, be sure to check for dead pixels. All LE models have a BOE panel if you check with a command, and there are multiple reports of dead/stuck pixels (i'm one of them) and it kinda sucks. Valve/Steam Support has already advised folks to keep the Steam Deck OLED for 30 additional days before submitting an RMA request. I love everything else about it tho.

New to the channel, been watching allot of reviews of the new steam deck and i will say that I got the original steam deck and I just purchased the new limited edition version simply because it looks cool and the the OLED on my switch makes my games look great and i want that for my steam deck. Also the better battery life it has will make my gaming better. I travel allot for work and not always around a plug to be able to charge my deck.

It's a confirmed issue. There is a buzzing sound on IEMs and some headphones. It is loud and audible in game.

Just an FYI, you can no longer buy the Limited Edition Steam Deck. It’s been out of stock since yesterday. Now if you want one, scalpers will be excited to make a quick buck off ya.

9:54 I'm wondering if your trackpad are SUPPOSED to be that clicky 🤔 My right trackpad is like that, and it also sounds louder and vibrates harder when I type on the screen. I'm fairly certain that it should be a softer haptic click (like my left trackpad that isn't as loud)

The only question I have is can you play it without Wi-Fi after you download a game? Do you have to have Wi-Fi to me that’s a dealbreaker can’t get Wi-Fi everywhere so it’s not really a portable game system unless you can download the games and go anywhere.

Subbed up! I’ve been hearing about the limited edition oled having dead pixels, so I got on google to see if I have any dead pixels on mine. Unfortunately I got one right in the center. Lots of people on reddit filed an RMA between the 24th and the 26th and gotten an exchange. Everyone after the 27th are getting a reply saying to play for 30 days to see what happens. 🤷🏻

First time owner. Bought it for baldurs gate 3 but i also have a beast pc. Its kinda jarring seeing the graphic difference between the two but i understand that it is a handheld device

I also updated,and damn boy on paper small improvements,but in reality a much better device, trust me totally worth

I’m coming from an ROG Ally to this but I want something that doesn’t hurt my hands when playing in bed, doesn’t spew enough heat to melt my sleeping dog, longer battery life without being plugged in, and most importantly that juicy oled screen

I did because of the storage on my 64 gig model was not cutting it anymore so I got the 512 oled model

Honestly I'm quite pleased with the original steam deck that came out a year ago. However the battery life does not last very long. I usually have it plugged in when I'm playing a long game session like Baldur's Gate 3. The biggest selling point for me is the battery life definitely. In fact I might even consider selling my current steam deck to pay it towards the new model. I'm starting to like Valve way more as they make improvements. Good job fellas! Hard work is paying off! : )

I think the battery issue can be tweaked when I look at Kakarot for example it has 6 hours battery but some small indies only give 3 hous it doesn't make much sense to me.

the OLED version is my first Steam Deck and I am really pleased with it. I am happy to report that you could easily get 3 hours of play in both Witcher 3 and GTA V. I could stretch it to 3 hr 30 mins, maybe. Just set the limit the screen to 45 hz and set TDP limit between 12 to 15. Still figuring out the Scaling and filters, though. The 90hz OLED screen really is the special sauce for the Deck. the 45fps limit doesn't feel much different than playing at 60fps, it is still a smooth experience but I won't be able to say for fast-paced competitive games, though. it enables the deck to achieve stable performance, reduce load on the processor (even if slightly) and improve battery life. Can't wait for discounts on Elden Ring.

Yeah I also got a refub one but then this came out and I needed one to see better, with ym eye issue was always hard to see it, with the OLED so bright and easy to see it now. Now to see what to do with ym old oen now.

Thanks for the review. Great product, but not worth it if you already have one. My Steamdeck is one of my bedrooms, and I use it go game away from my main gaming stationary PC. It stays plugged in usually, so battery life is a non issue. I like the bigger screen, but that's not enough to justify the new purchase.
