What's up beautiful people in this video I will be using the Melanin Haircare collection by @Naptural85 to do a twist out using the LOC Method (Leave in, oil, cream). I don't typically use oils during styling but this oil is a little different, which I talk about below and during the video. Make sure you watch until to end to find out if this combo was a keeper or not?!
// THE CONDITIONER //
The Melanin Hair Care Multi Use Softening Leave In Conditioner is made with nourishing baobab oil, turnip root, and pro-vitamin B5. You can use it in seven different ways! As a pre-poo, a detangler, a conditioner, a deep conditioner, a leave-in conditioner, a styling cream, and to re-hydrate your hair throughout the week!
My preference is to use it as a pre-poo, detangler, and even co wash. It has a ton of slip and does a great job of starting the cleansing process. For best results I suggest giving it time to absorb into your hair. This can be done using body heat, the steam from your shower, a plastic cap, a deep conditioning cap, or a hooded dryer (the choice is yours).
// THE OIL //
The Melanin Hair care Multi-Use Pure Oil Blend is a non‑greasy, lightweight formula that contains some of the richest, most nourishing oils on the market like baobab oil, argan oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, sage oil, geranium oil and vitamin E! It is designed to soften, nourish, seal, add slip while detangling, and helps to restore and improve the manageability of your hair!
I love using this oil to detangle my hair it is so slippery and does not weigh my hair down. My favorite way to use it is to coat my hands before taking down my twists and on my body (don't judge me haha)
// THE CREAM //
The Melanin Haircare Twist Elongating Style Cream contains five of the most nourishing, all-natural hair butters on the market: shea butter, mango butter, cocoa butter, kokum butter and cupuacu butter! Complete with hydrating and reparative aloe vera, plumping avocado and sweet almond oil, and vitamin-rich argan oil, this is one powerfully luxurious and hydrating style cream!
I love this cream! It is softening, smoothing, and supple!! It coats the hair nicely and is heavy enough to tame frizz but does not weigh the hair down. My favorite way to use it is for twist outs and braid outs with a lighter leave in.

The LOC method is a moisturization layering technique that consists of applying liquid to hydrate the hair, oil to lock in moisture and cream to prevent moisture loss; the exact protocol you use depends on how thirsty your hair is, often determined by your natural hair's porosity. Your hair is so beautiful! I can understand about the leave in... It probably had so much moisture that the hold was less. Finding that perfect ratio is super important. I had to figure that out too!

Hey girl! I love your personality. I have been using all her products from her original launch. You know Whitney is all about the health and moisture of hair. When she wants a certain hold is when she used to use her flaxseed gel. But you are right, because their is so much moisture, you may not get the desired hold with that leave-in. I actually found out how oily it was when I used it on almost dry hair as a moisturizer. My hair loves it as a moisturizer/detangler. Dry (as in not wet...lol) hair soaks it up! But yes, all the products are great. We just have to use them in the way they best work for our hair 😊. Everyone seems to always talk about the hold, but the one thing I haven’t seen on the jar is hold. The cream was suppose to be like her DIY butter. So I am praying for a release on her Flaxseed gel 🤞🙏🏽. The results of the flow and softness of your hair...love it. Shout out from Jamaica 🇯🇲. I agree with all the things haha the leave in is so yummy on wet and dry hair ❤️ I think that's why I love it so much as a prepoo because it rehydrates so well 🤗 I think if I didn't experience hold the first time I used it i wouldn't have been disappointed 😂😂 but yes I love how focused on hair health they are and I am here for it 👏🏽👏🏽 I actually have away my butter from the first launch so someone else could experience this goodness and then I bought another one when I got the leave in. Just quality products but I got spoiled that first time around haha

Girl your hair is so defined and gorgeous! It looks so soft too. I use the leave in as a prepoo meaning I used it to detangle and it makes my wash day so much easier. Maybe you can incorporate it into your routine that way

I definitely love and need that moisture. Like it’s fall and winter, and my hair needs to be moisturized from wash day to wash day

My favorite combo is the carol daughter coco creme moisture butter and the mane choice exotic cool aid leave in conditioner. Bomb combo, moisture for dayssss. You should try it

I always put on a plastic cap when I sit under the dryer for that exact reason. When drying twist outs, I think it's important to cover the hair so it absorbs without drying it out.

@@CurlsofaCPA I use a plastic cap as if I were deep conditioning. It helps to keep the moisture locked in with the heat. Without a cap, that's straight dry heat blowing on the hair.

I heard through the KZread streets that there were some allegations against the owner so some people have chosen not to support the brand. I'm not at that place in life yet haha but I know there are some folks who may not support them right now so I like to be sensitive to that. But thanks for stopping by!!! Not saying I never will, I would just do it when the time feels right. But go ahead and use your curl enhancing smoothie while I see what the results of that situation

I don’t use the style cream I just use the leave in the style cream didn’t work for me and I’ve tried several times. I think it’s too each it’s own.

yeah I think so as well. Even on my same head of hair just by using another leave in I got different results lol but the leave in is consistent

I have 4c hair and my hair is just so dry and these are literally the only products that work for my hair. I feel my hair is too thick to use the multi purpose for a deep conditioner. All I have used it for is a leave in. And question, do you know any good moisturizing shampoos??

I have a couple friend's that I introduced to the products and they absolutely love them too! When I get back home I can look through my stash for you and let you know but the ones that comes to mind are the Sheamoisture coconut and hibiscus shampoo and the Sienna Naturals shampoo (I have a video on this product)
