First thing that struck me when I heard rebel for the first time was how U-know sounds like he's about 4 different people. Man's so versatile. Down was the one you said you missed (from the same album as Rebel) it's so good.

As you can see, they are the only group who keep drinking a water in killing voice videos bcs the first half of the songs was originally for 5members with strong vocals and they did it with 2members only unlike other groups with mostly more than 3members divided. What's funnier is when they were a five member group, Yunho was not even on the vocal line. But yea, they are famous for their amazing vocal, especially in their prime. If you really want to hear the 5 members vocal on their vocal oriented song, I would recommend you Love In The Ice. I'm not even their fan, but I was jawdropping when I first heard that song. All of the five members are really a main vocal material. And rising sun is the legendary song that strengthen the SM music identity on their first decade, if you think about SMP on this generation, yes, Next Level and NCT 127 would come to ur mind.

Rising Sun was one of the biggest hits of TVXQ. Lots of junior groups including Seventeen, WannaOne, Hwasa covered this song. And recently Riize performed this song together with TVXQ at MAMA 2023.

When it comes to popularity then BIGBANG are known as the God's of Kpop just like how 2NE1 are the Goddesses of Kpop but when it comes to vocal skills then yes TVXQ definitely have much better vocals even tho BIGBANG are great vocalist too they focus more on rapping .

Wow, you're so good at noticing there's something gloomy about Balloon since the lyrics is about reminiscing forgotten childhood dreams when we growing up. My favorite song is also Tonight so may I suggest you please check out Tonight live when they were OT5. It's not that the duo isn't good but the song originally is arranged for 5 voices so I think this song would shown its wholesomeness best with OT5. Anyway, for the 20&2 albums, I love The Way U Are (unplugged ver.) the most. I really appreciate their choice to rearrange thier old songs to suit duo singers. It's reviving the old jams and making music style more up-to-date. They also sang many rearranged version songs at 20&2 concert that I wish they'd publish the studio ver. for stream listening.

2004 is 2nd gen. Very early second gen actually. Tvxq debuted in December 2003 even though their debut song (Hug) was officially released in 2004!

Love in the Ice is my fav song of theirs.. U should watch the Japanese live ver. especially.. they go by the name of TOHOSHINKI instead of TVXQ in Japan.

no offense but for me Yunho used to be the "weakest" vocalist in the group when they were still 5 (yeah because TVXQ is the vocal group when every member is a singer material) he worked his ass off to improve his vocal skill when the other 3 separated. its actually really show how he is such a passionate person because he really grew sooo much

I agree with you and he is my bias. But i agree that he was the weakest vocal in tvxq but his low notes were still good at that time. But look at him now, worked his way to fill the void and he has such a beautiful tone to his voice.

Yes TVXQ singing style is more like an Acapella group. Three singer with higher notes and Two with low deep notes. They were the perfect singing K group

Yes, Yunho was never considered the strong vocalist. He was supreme with dancing and stage presence. Also, I heard that low deep note is the most difficult to master. I am so proud of him as he is my bias to keep pushing himself over the limit.
