ONEW IS A REAL LEGEND

hehe not that vague. Lyrics and visuals refer to the cycle of life, eternity and the connections between all of us in these cycles of life-death, greeting-farewells, love, memories... That bettle represented eternal life in antiquity, there are many images of circle, the circle also means it is a cycle, goes on an on, like life, the world. The set that looks like a TV set of a children show reminds The Truman Show, with the door at the back (as if you actually live in a "show" and then real life is out through that door, maybe death and the eternal cycle? So in that set, you follow a script, you have your books, your childhood dreams...). Fire is a symbol of destruction but regeneration at the same time, after a fire that burns a forest new plants grow from the ashes. Rain too, washes away things and gives life to new ones. There is also an abandoned school, old toys etc. Also references to the other SHINee members. That weird fabric tunnel reminds us of an uterus where life is gestated, also related to his song "In the Whale" where he refers to the biblical tale of Jonas when he was swallowed by a whale and it's another symbol of reencarnation, life after death, again the cycle of life-death... The way he uses a walkie-talkie to communicate in some scenes, i guess it refers to all of us being connected, maybe through his songs, his music. In SHINee's new song The Feeling he uses a machine that records the ambient sounds, i think it refers to Onew registering Shawols feelings and thoughts and so the connection between all of us. At the end that machine is at the center in the chapel and a ray of light from heaven (Jonghyun?) illuminates it. I cried the 1st time and i cry every time. I love this song. And the album is fantastic!!

This kind of sincere reviews give me hope in pop music again. I hope kpop labels and media channels stop stereotyping international kpop fans as buncha superficial k-fetish addicts. Translations and subtitling and proper lyricists should not be afterthoughts in 2023 kpop music. Just becos western youths love kpop dance challenge doesn't mean they don't care about song meaning or vocal delivery, if anything I feel a revival of timeless pop music is coming, and kpop evergreens like Shinee is already a part of it!

Since the release of this song, I've listened to it every single day first thing in the morning. It's very beautiful. I think the message is that even if time goes on, memories fade, there's an eternal cycle we're all part of that's related to how we can all relate to each other... starting from childhood dreams, to feeling happy and lonely, the love we give each other etc.

The opening and closing and the background clarinet is basically (like) modern classical composer Philip Glass, whose composed everything from movie scores to grand opera.

If you have hard and suffocating days, I think Circle is one of the best songs to relax and calm your heart. When you listen to this song it's like we are taken to fly to a beautiful and peaceful fantasy place. This song seems to say that let everything happen and will return to where it should be. There's one thing that I really like every time Onew sings as if he's talking and telling to his listeners, this is so incredible. I really like the way he sings furthermore, his voice is very beautiful, clear, and heartbreaking. I think this song is about the cycle of life that goes on around us. Both about nature and human relations. Whatever happens will continue one after another and humans will experience different things but can only struggle, strengthen and support one another. I really like this song, even the songs on this album are very relaxing and you will be able to enjoy it a lot. Onew's vocals are really clear and beautiful. When I listen to her voice I can feel how deep his appreciation is. Thank you Aaron your reaction means a lot to me. A year ago Jaemin brought me into the world of K-pop, especially NCT. Finally, NCT is my first love in the K-pop industry n TaeYong & Jungwoo became my bias. I like the way they dance n sing, they're so good. Then your channel dragged me into an SM stand and made Taemin and Onew my new biases in 5HINee. Music and all SM artists are my standards in judging a song and the performance. 😂😂😂 It could all be a part of that SMCUniverse or something😂💔 I am new though, but I have heard-and seen many SM Mvs share little similarities in details.

I didn't expect you to like Circle, since I believe Onew is the member that less resonates with you, but thank you for reacting to it, you always point out details I miss when hearing songs by my self.
