Its interesting to hear Lee Suhyun say she's not ambitious. She's a top singer, an ace natural radio host, and did a commendably good job in her small recurring role in that TV series. All because, according to her, lack ambition results in lack of performance anxiety. Compare that to IU who is savagely ambitious and very very earnest.

Thanks for the video Aaron. 😌 I liked this interview, a lot of things happened and it allowed me to learn a little more about them because I don't know Akmu that much. IU is, as always, very beautiful. PS : I was sure you would react to this video. 😁

Sea of Hope, the variety show which was mentioned during the interview could be interesting for you to check out. It is kind of music variety show and Suhyun is one of the cast as well as Onew from SHINee. You can watch them sing together live over there. there are video clips of them singing solo or duet even trio including Rose from blackpink and legendary Yoon jong shin. i think you would love it.

if you listen AKMU'S album "Sailing" you will know how amazing these sibling. That one IU singing "farewell" is from that album

From IU, I’m glad Aaron got to know powerhouse vocals such as SHiNee & AKMU. They have excellent album, and I listen to all the B-sides too! and most of b-side charts really well. If you watch Sea of Hope, you gonna like SuHyun and Onew duets

All of them are super funny. My favorite song of AKMU is "200%". Hope you try it someday.

If you want to know more about AKMU, especially Suhyun, the girl, I am highly recommended you to watch the JTBC TV show, which is begin again. It has so many seasons, but season 3 is my favorite. In this TV show, Suhyun and henry are so talented, and Taeyeon has also appeared on the show this season.

Great reaction as always Aaron! I didn't watch the video beforehand and instead waited for your upload :) You should check out IU's Palette with Gong Yoo! It's my favorite after Itzy, lots of great conversation and performances between our actress Jieun and Gong Yoo, who is like the A-list of all A-list Korean actors.

It's really heartwarming that Suhyun turned to IU when she was at her lowest point musically. If anyone remembers, Suhyun once wanted to retire from music and nothing else could convince her of otherwise until she and IU had a good talk about it. I think their compatibility is great, because Suhyun herself said she lacks ambition & passion while Chanhyuk js the opposite and IU is the same in both aspects where all she wants to do is focus on the things that matter to her most but all the others would make it too hard on her, and that makes her not want to pursue it. Even this is manifested in IU's promotions and choices in projects (not only limited to the musical ones). And yes, this is also in reference to IU's choice to not branch out internationally amongst other things. All the best for their long-running friendship. 🌼

i feel like the hand gestures really do help in singing the right notes! especially when climbing up and down a scale. i remember being taught to raise my eyebrows when singing high melodies, so that might be the reason they do the gesture :D

This was really fun to watch! Love both IU & AKMU 🥰🥰. But you missed something Aaron! After that accidental slip and fall, they looked embarassed but in a cute way! Then Suhyun stretched out her hand(was she holding a pen?) and went 1,2,3!! Remember Men In Black? They did that to erase your memory (of the MIB& those aliens!!)! So cute if Suhyun😅. She did covers of popular English songs on Begin Again series so beautifully. Even Alicia Keys' If I Ain't Got You, with Rosé BP and Onew on Sea Of Hope series. But like you said IU's voice sounds more mature☺️. Nice reaction!

I dislike YG company, but AKMU joined them under the condition of having prominent creative control of their music (plus they added clauses such as "we will not be asked to have plastic surgery")... Thanks God for that, because their unique sound may be their biggest virtue. Maybe it's because they are self taught, but their music (melodies, onomatopeias, arangements, progression, etc) is very dynamic and out of the box, despite the the rather minimalistic instrumentals. AKMU was originally known for their youthful, mischievous, playful, super quirky sound. (aka the sound of happiness) They have some indie/accoustic tracks, some funky/jazzy tracks. But they also have some very sentimental songs. Chanhyuk wrote the demo tracks for Sailing during his military service, after a breakup, so it's a very romantic album, about heartbreak. Lately they have been making more of those eery, misterious soongs (like Nakka or Battlefield, that could be seen as a progression from Melted and Happening... It's a darker sound.) In their new album, New Episode, there's more maturity too... But they also addapted each track a little to the style of the artist they were working with on each track, so overall, it sounds a little more trendy, in my opinion.

Aaron I suggest it would be great if you could react to iu’s palette episode with Gongyoo, he’s an A-list actor in sk with many good works n he’s very cool easy going person. the episode is really fun, they talk about iu’s acting career wise too, like Manwol and Jian (it’ll be interesting since you also familiar with her dramas, plus she rarely talks about her acting career tho) and a bit of her music because gongyoo is a fan of her, she also sang her song requested by him like by the stream, full stop, etc. And you could tell she’s trying to seek advice from him before her movie filming starting since he’s considered a veteran actor
