I don’t understand why so many people are spreading misinformation’s even tho the official statement is there for everyone to read. The Offical MV (Anime MV) will be uploaded every day with a new member message at the end for 7 days. After that the official mv (Anime mv) will be uploaded without any message at the end for everyone to watch

Deja Vu is the first song (including mv) I heard from DC and it made me interested Second song (including mv) I heard is Piri and it secured their place as my ult group 😂 I instantly fell in love and ever since then, I listen to their songs including covers and watching videos related to DC 💖 I just got sucked in by their gravitational pull just like a black hole 🤣

Piri was my first cb as a Somnie

"Blow the Piri" somewhat sends the meaning of reaching out to someone to save them. Basically, to save Yoohyeon from being stuck because of the Spider Queen. It could also be an uplifting song to those who feel alone and depressed, in the way that they (DC) would be there, just "blow the piri" (call out for them) imo, that's why the chorus sounds a bit lighter compared to the quite heavy verses.

you are basically done with the nightmare series. breaking out is just an japanese alternate ending. since you done, here goes the story in a nutshell. jiu captures a spider and yoohyeon kills it causing them to get cursed by the spider spirit haunting the mansion in fly high. they are separated sent into alternate nightmare universes through the mirror and spend the whole time trying to find each other and get out. in piri, they are 'blowing the piri(flute)' as an sos beacon to find themselves and break the mirror to get out. there are TONS of easter eggs in each video that you need to pause to see that will dive into the story in greater detail if you are the type to likes to dig that deep.

parts outside the chorus may stray, but dreamcatcher's title track chorus are always rock so that's why they stripped the 808 trap beat. they ain't going for the typical kpop drop here. plus their bridges always bring it back down. both are dreamcatcher signatures.

The shadow and pattern of spider webs are hidden here and there in this mv, indicating that they are still trapped in the curse of the spider. It's fun to discover the little fine details that they incorporate in their mv that connects with their story line. One of the reason I love dreamcatcher :)

The first sound is the war horn. An intro track that harmonizes the early orchestration reminiscent of a scene in a war movie with the intense Drum & Bass rhythm in the second half. Dreamcatcher's song "PIRI" is a song that expresses the feelings of modern people who want to escape the loneliness and anxiety left alone. Their SOS signals were expressed through the material 'PIRI' (korea flute) in the lyrics. If there is a new change, it gives a sense of urgency with beats that are different from the existing fast-tempo songs. In particular, the highlight of the song is the repeated melody of the flute and whistling sound.

Piri is the one that Yoohyeon's holding in the beginning and it is the sound in the beginning of the music

A Piri looks like a wooden flute with a reed. It's not pictured in the video. Yoohyeon has what looks like some sort of shell horn. The sound at the beginning is the closet sound to a Piri but still not quite right.. more like a synthesized version of it / guitar sound.

That first sound is a sample their producers created. As they are ATEEZ's producers too, they also put that wind instrument sound in some of their songs

The piri is a Korean bamboo flute. If you hear it's sound in a nightmare you're supposed to wake up. The sound in the MV isn't a piri though.

Piri is Korean traditional instrument which is similar to flute in Western, and was considered as kind of occult or supernatural element. Also it sounds like 'Pil-lil-lil-lily' as you heard in the song, and the whistling sound at the beginning was imitating sound of Piri.(Of course it's not the real sound) So in the lyric, they're(Actually not they it's Yoohyeon because she's the only person who was trapped in the nightmare in What, You and I) sending SOS signal to be saved in the nightmare. We don't know the ending, but I think the last scene, holding their hands together, implies that they're all stuck in the nightmare trying to save Yoohyeon because the mood got suddenly dark. However some people are assuming that they finally broke out the spell, and woke up from the nightmare in 'Breaking Out' even though it's not included in the storyline officially. I think it makes sense because the lyrics match with the storylines, and they're also holding hands with white dress on, exactly same ending as Piri, but they're smiling in Breaking Out. Just my opinion, sorry for bad English I'm Korean lol

I became fan of Dreamcatcher because of their bsides. This is the only kpop group that dont have bad song, JINJA!! I recommend Silent Night and Black or White.

So from my understanding their Japanese release “Breaking Out” is an alternate ending to the nightmare storyline so maybe react to that next 😊

The sound at the beginning of the song is actually the sound of guitar (basically playing with whammy bar and stuffs). You can search videos of those kinds lol. But yeah it was cool sound to use.

Piri is the ending for the Nightmare series where I think they failed to save Yoohyeon and instead got pulled in and trapped to the neverending nightmare (thus the ending scene and darkness). I heard that there is an alternate ending to this in their JP song Breaking Out.

As i remember piri is flute and in korean it means S.O.S. This time yoohyeon got trapped in the nightmare maze and she blown the piri to call the others for help. They came to rescue her but failed and end up trapped in there own nightmare. Breaking out is the end of nightmare serie where they found each other and escaped the nightmare world so thats why the last line is "bye bye to this nightmare". Sorry for my poor english and pls correct me if i'm wrong 😭

And i just realized the breakdown you said it was quiet, like they were lost in despare but then at gahyeon's scene, there was a line of light in the dark room, as there is still hope and drum started again along with it

The bass guitar in the chorus isn't as prominent as the 808s in the verse, but a "louder" bass is very difficult to engineer. You'd have to get creative maybe with sidechain compression so it doesn't conflict with the kick drum and/or find a tone gap for the bass to fill without overpowering the guitars. All in all, it's a safe decision to keep the bass like this than risk having a muddy/overwhelming tone and ruin the experience. There aren't a lot of engineers out there who can really create a perfectly balanced mix between the bass and the rest of the instruments.

Good night : dream-hunter attack Dreamcatcher with magic book. but Dreamcatcher counter-attack and throw him in mirror. You and I : Spider-witch find Dreamcatcher. Spider-witch put a curse on Handong and Gahyeon through their photos. But Siyeon lift curse to burn their photos. Anyway, Spider-witch face Yoohyeon and put a curse on her. Jiu realize that this curse is repeated forever. So she decide to abandon lifting the curse. What : Dreamcatcher run away their shelter with Yoohyeon cursed. Spider-witch catch them all through Yoohyeon's body. Piri : Dreamcatcher fall in endless nightmare with no exit. they play the pipe(blow the piri) and find each other. BUT................ sorry for my bad English.... T - T please someone re-write this perfect English. T - T

Ok, as you remembered Yoohyeon stuck in an endless dream with spider poison, now others enter her dream to rescue her. At start that voice you had goosebump was from a piri. Btw piri (the thing Yoohyeon holding at the start) is a horn/warhorn. Others calling for her with using piri. But at the same time since they are in Yoohyeon dream/universe they also have to deal with their own nightmares. Like Sua has a nightmare about dolls. And at the end they manage to find each other and save the Yoohyeon and themself from the nightmare.
