Honda VFR800X Crossrunner 3 Day Tour around Switzerland and Italy

September 2020 after a mad rush to fit a top box, Cardo system to my helmet, pack my gear and plan a route I headed off to the Swiss/Austrian/Italian mountains.
I haven't shot any videos for a while and my camera is a cheap no brand model, so apologies for the wind noise and not so great editing.
Anyone with more knowledge on the video side of things and wants to offer a few words of wisdom, please do.
I love the sounds of the VFR, but could do without such a strong wind noise.
For the Eagle Eye'd among you....no I don't keep putting my indicator on around the hairpins, I don' t know why I have a bit of OCD in making sure the indicator isn't flashing when it shouldn't....I'll get over it one day.... ;)
I'm lucky enough to live somewhere with some great riding near by, so I plan to improve my video skills, I really enjoy looking back on the ride.
The trip took 3 days, I covered around 1000KM, took my camping gear with me and thoroughly enjoyed myself with simple living, spending the day in the saddle and a couple of beers in the evening waking up to the sun just popping up over the mountains in the morning.

To be honest it's difficult not to find good Roads in Switzerland and Northern Italy. In these 3 days I was riding through Engadin/Scuol and I think this was around Stelvio , South Tyrol. Better to ride during the week as weekends can get busy.... ...we are just waiting for the passes to open again once the snow has been cleared. Still a few weeks to go before they are all open!! ohhhh and this thing Called Covid to get lost so we can move around Europe again!!!

@@SimmJimm Looks very good! I'm planning a 'business-related' trip, Covid or no Covid. In the end, it's still possible, even if with some restrictions... Right now most countries accept entries without quarantine if negative tested. Thank you for the tips, I'll add them to my plan (if not yet)

@@dcftvd there is a motorcycle map that covers most of the good routes and passes in Switzerland and recently I’ve been using an app called Calimotor. Been impressed with that. Sometimes you have to check the route just to make sure it’s not sending you down a silly side road just for 500m. Generally it’s pretty good, quick and simple. Have fun.
Lovely video but it doesn't tell us a lot about the bike.

That's actually a very valid point....I guess I should have done some of the video of the actual bike and not just the riding. Well, I've owned it for just under a year, it's a 2016 model. Stock apart from Screen. I clocked up around 10k KM last year I think. As an owner I love it. Super comfortable, but still good for a sporty ride. It's fairly basic compared to modern bikes. There is no Cruise Control which would be handy on longer stretches, but I have a little plastic bracket that takes some of the strain away from wrist and hand. Quick shifter is very handy. Riding position is very comfortable, also for passengers. There is enough power when fully loaded and two up, but you notice the uphills a bit more. Suspension is manually adjustable depending on weight. Bike sounds amazing, especially with the VTEC....you can't beat the V4. I absolutely love the bike and would recommend it without hesitation. There are some good bikes out there, but I think to get the same as the VFR you'd probably spend quite a bit more. If you plan on doing some touring, the OEM topbox and panniers are recommended. My only negative is the original small screen, but that's easily rectified. HTH, any other questions, just let me know.
