Now thats good info. Thanks i have a 2012 Honda civic that i think has a bad txv. It blowns cold sometime an then some days doesn't blow cold at all. Even with compressor an Fans running. I think the txv is causeing a freon restriction to my evaporator. Sometimes even on a day were its 95 degrees it will blow ice cold. Then the next day or next start up it wont blow cold at all. I need a gauge set to verify my finding to see if my pressures are leveling out after the system is not operating. Fans and compressor are always still running even when I'm having no cold-air so I knocked those ideas right out the window as those being bad I would hope laugh out loud

Question Bigdog did an a/c pressure check (today) on my 09 Civic. I had a compressor and compressor relay replaced May 2020. @ 85F ambient an 20% humidity my idle readings were 35/150 & 44F seemed great. Then I accelerated to 1500-2000 rpm, the compressor clutch would cycle occasionally and my low pressure would cycle between 18-40 with no noticeable change to the high pressure and great temps. That fluctuate has me concerned though (low charge or some blockage or normal)? I have a mechanical background and as a retiree I have the time to DIY and research and really haven’t found an answer. I really appreciate the thorough yet concise content and will be using your Amazon links! I would appreciate any insight or recommendations hoping to avoid flushing cash down the toilet. Thanks

@Big Dog50001 Automotive Maybe you haven't seen Bob's post above? Seems to me that car should be able to get down to around 41 with same ambient conditions, and the low pressure side seems a little tiny bit high too. (In this ambient environment 28-29 PSI) Maybe a touch overcharged?

@Bob Kowalski I made a post directed to big dog about your problem lets see if he gets back to you? I think your low side is a bit higher than it should be for the ambient temps and humidity you mention and idle speed (maybe should be 28-29). It is normal though for these compressors to cycle occasionally to keep the the system from freezing up. Also possible that you have some air trapped in the system as well. Maybe go back and ask them politely to redo a vacuum and recharge. If they are reputable they'll probably do it at no charge to satisfy you. I'm sure you paid quite a bit to get the repair work done.

Lol I have this car but mines 32psi low side, and 270-300psi high. I checked at around 2k rmp it was sitting at 360psi high side. I assume this isnt normal but i was using a r134a temp chart.
