Honda SH150i motor scooter camping and painting

I head south to the St.Lawrence river for some bug free camping. Our home area is bombarded by black flies and mosquitoes at this time of year so if you want to do some camping you have to go in search of an area without them. I really enjoyed this overnight camp, although it was a cold and windy ride.
Lots of birds to photograph and I managed to get in some painting.
I added music because of the wind sounds and didn't do much commentary because I didn't feel like talking, but I hope you enjoy the video.

Some seek solitude...some seek adventure ...some seek the unknown ...but were all the same ...we love our time on our bikes .

Too true, and hopefully we find many of those things whenever we ride. Thanks for watching.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching your video. Such calmness and serenity. Your watercolors are very beautiful. How does all this contrast with our life. This spring, I also spent most of May in nature, traveling around the lake on a packraft. Surprisingly, mosquitoes appeared very early this year, this had not happened before. But mosquitoes are something you can put up with. It is more difficult to live in a society that is poisoned by fear and hatred. Traveling around the lake, I decided to visit a village where I was many years ago, I think in 1999. Then the locals treated us to tea and blueberry pie in a small family cafe. A lot has changed since then. When I walked down the street, the locals silently and intently looked at me, no one greeted me, as was usual in the old days. There was tension and suspicion. Although I looked normal, there was nothing special in my appearance, I shaved in the morning, my clothes were clean and tidy. It struck me so. For reference. I'm from Russia. Returning to my tent, I thought how I had so angered God that I was born in such a place. All my conscious life has passed against the backdrop of a series of all sorts of cataclysms. This is Perestroika and the wars in Chechnya, then the dictatorship and now the war with Ukraine. At the same time, Canada exists on Earth. Where people are spared all these troubles and live freely and with dignity. Where the climate and landscapes are similar to Russia. Thinking about it, I sat on the shore of the lake and looked at the beautiful clouds. They were truly great. Over a huge bay more than 4 km wide, there was beauty itself in the sky. And I realized that only in this is salvation, in contemplation of the beauty of nature and distancing from a society that is in such an unhealthy state.

My wife and I went camping on that Wednesday, too. Started out very wet but then we had strong wind for the next 24 hours. We were a couple of hours north of Montreal. Thanks for the video - the last time I camped in Long Sault was probably 25 years ago.

@@jamescarey7277 They were fine while the wind was blowing - intolerable otherwise (like having to be careful not to breath them in). Can't have it both ways at this time of year, I suppose. Stream fishing (my favourite) was great, though - lots of hungry specs.

It was a very interesting video, as I too have a drawing mind. I haven't picked up a brush recently, but I might try painting again. Thanks to James for the video, which made me smile.

Wasn't sure if you were still doing the camping, it's been a while since the last camp video! I like all your sketches and paintings, but I think this one was may favorite yet, maybe because it had the scooter in it. Loved how effortlessly you applied the greens and yellows to create the effect. Also great shots of the birds, still and video--your camera has a great zoom on it. Anyway, thanks as always!
