Honda Ridgeline vs The Alabama Rubicon (600-1 & 600-2)

Within the Talladega National Forest is set of trails referred to as the Alabama Rubicon. It's not particularly difficult, but it seems to be the place everyone knows about, everyone goes, and everyone talks about on Facebook. Nate, Dad, and Myself decided to take a last minute trip to Alabama to take on this famous trail. Of course, if you look back in our video catalog, you may find it's not the first time we've done this particular trail system.

Let's take a moment to respect the fact that in your videos, the Honda goes further off road than most truck buyers ever take their full sized 4x4s. Yes in extreme situations, 4x4 with lockers is better than AWD, but I think the Honda has proven its ability to go where many people would need to take it.

As the saying goes, not bad for a minivan. personally I don't consider the ridgeline to be a minivan. I consider it to be a truck. I own one. I love it. it does what trucks do all be it on a lighter scale but it's a truck.

As a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon owner I 100% agree with the Jacob G comments. I LOVE my truck and I bought it to go "off road" camping, fishing and hunting and when I mean off road I mean No road. The Ridgeline gets a lot of hate BUT with a small lift and decent tires it will handle solid medium off roading. At this time in my life the Honda isn't for me (still a great truck) someday when I slow down a bit LOL I will probably own one great reliable vehicle and does very well in snow.

@@Grodd70 It's kind of ironic that a Gladiator Rubicon is much less capable at actual truck stuff than a Ridgeline. Smaller bed, can't tow as much and a much lower payload.

@@seruresto1386 Which is why the Jeep is a purpose built vehicle ..if I was looking at towing and hauling I'd be looking at a 3/4 ton truck or above. Trying to take one of those tanks off road wouldn't cut it so for what I want in a truck ..Jeep works fine.

With a decent lift and some skid plates that ridgeline is more then able to do most things people need off-road, while giving a better ride then all pick ups on road.

Is there a lift in the near future for your Ridgeline? You'll Benefit from a 2" lift and beefier tires. I have a 2016 Pilot with a 2" Truxxx lift kit and running 255/65R18 (31.1") the added height in tires and lift gives me a little over 11.25" at the rear Differential and 10.5" at the lowest point at the rear control arms. You won't regret it. Go with a Traxda 2" lift instead of the Truxxx, Traxda has a front camber adjustment on the front spacer.
