Honda Recon 24” tires no modifications needed

Lots of misinformation about the maximum size tires for the Honda Recon 250. I put 24X10-12 Ocelot tires on mine with no problems. I did change rims to ITP 12” steel. Offset is 2+5 and 5+2. The 12” rims allows for many more tire options opposed to the 9” rear and 11” front factory rims. This tire upgrade gives 2 more inches clearance and more top end speed.

i have fit 26s on mine with no lift they scrub very little
What width rims do you have? Same with as the tire? 8 in the front and 10 in the back?

Not 100% sure the width of the rims. I think its 10" rear and 8" front, I can check after work this evening.

@@sfbjr22 Sorry for the delayed reply. 7" wide rims in front and 10" wide in the rear. No issues so far.
I have a 03 recon. Does anyone know if this setup would work also.

Yes, it should work, but all tire mfg's sizes run a little larger or smaller than others. I ended up selling mine, but never had any issues while I had it. Keep in mind that by putting a 24" rear tire, you gain top end, but lose a little out of the hole. With the factory 22", I could wheelie the quad, but with the 24" it would not wheelie. Just not enough low end torque.

The fronts are 24X8-12. Rears are 24X10-12.
