The coolest parts about the vid is the flip down steering wheel in the SuperGT NSX & the STR F1 car sparking around the banked Motegi oval.

I’m surprised they were able to drive the 2018 f1 car. Aren’t there a lot of restrictions on testing?

The sporting regulations allow them to attend events like these, but they can only run 100 km I believe. There's also a restriction on how many events they can attend each year

@@mingsenliaw4450 True. A current-year car can be run for a max 100 km under the status of a 'filming day' run. Otherwise, the regs only allow two-year-old (and older) cars as the most recent machinery to be run outside the race weekends and or official testing days entirely restriction-freely.

@@mirkokvesic1598 No, it's indeed 2+ and has been that way since around 2010/2011 (more or less ever since testing outside the race weekends started to become more, and more limited by the rules). In 2011, for example, the most recent cars that could be used entirely unfreely were the 2009 cars, then 2010 in 2012, '11 in '13, '12 in '14, '13 in '15, '14 in '16, '15 in '17, '16 in '18, and now the '17-cars are in that position and will remain there throughout this year, and so on.
