Hi Mate, Shout out from Australia! This series has been great! You did a great job bringing it back to life. I was one of those lucky kids that got a QR50 in 1991. It is still sitting in my garage, and I was planning on restoring it for my daughter. Amazing timing.

Wow! Nice job. I've got one that's been sitting in different garages for the last 30 years. It's moved with me twice and now it's sitting in my garage in the Laurentians, Quebec. I'm thinking of selling it for parts cause I wouldn't even know where/how to begin restoring it. There are so many things wrong with it, from the broken handle bars to the fact that it hasn't run in 35 years. And back then we didn't even know what a 2 stroke was... I was 8!

I have a parts bike too , that could be fixed , but would cost way more money than it's worth. These QR 50's were only in Canada in 83/84 so sourcing parts can be expensive. Check Ebay to see what's available and whether yours is worth fixing. Thanks for watching.

Great series, we just picked up an 84 in really good shape. Only problem is the cdi box is fried so have yet to locate one to be able to fire it up. Does your parts bike still have its cdi? Id also be intersted in you spair frint fender even though it has a crease

Thanks for watching. I don't know if my parts bike has a cdi but I probably wouldn't sell it if it does. The NC 50 Honda shared a lot with the QR50, I know there's aftermarket cdi's for those on ebay, you'd just have to modify the connections if you can find a schematic. I ended up using the creased fender since the new one I bought was the wrong color.

Ive got one i have to restore also, it has almost nothing in the way of electrics and hoses... i dont understand the oil pump, are you able to give more info on it at all? How to pull down and clean, or something alike 😅😅 i understand how old this mini series is.

Hi, i would start by downloading these two manuals from facebook facebook.com/groups/HondaQR50/permalink/697112364423294 facebook.com/groups/HondaQR50/permalink/697111994423331 That is the repair manual and owners manual. The oil pump works with the throttle, it is oil injection similar to a snowmobile. You will need an electrical harness so if yours is missing look on ebay or buy a parts bike. Ebay has quite a few parts for them . Good luck with the project.

@@charlesoneil6224 you have to pull in the left hand brake to get spark so if you dont have a switch figure out if its supposed to be a closed circuit , if so tie those wires together. Yes you need to choke a cold engine.

You can try looking on Ebay or the Honda NC 50 moped had a very similar engine . Not sure if one of those will work but again I would look on Ebay. Good luck on the search.
