Thank you for the video. I just bought one and am hung up on the step for Firestick TV remote setup. What is the brand of tv or IR control number that you selected so that Firestick remote can control the volume?

I don’t think you’ll be able to find a tv name that would work. But, 99% of the time my kids are wearing headphones and the volume adjustment is on their individual headphones so they are managing it by themselves. Volume can also be controlled through the audio system the same way you would with a dvd. But I don’t think you’ll be able to use the volume control on the fire stick. I would guess the Honda remote would still control volume but we’ve never tried.

If i wanted to use the In car AT&T WiFi instead of my phone’s hotspot for the fire stick, could that work better?

I assume that would work but I'm not that familiar with the AT&T wifi in the Odyssey. I do recall when I looked at it several years ago that it was not unlimited and only around 2Gigs were provided each month. That would be gone in probably two hours of streaming. But it may have changed to Unlimited by now so I would explore that option.

How was wifi connection to your phone? Smooth for the most part or choppy/lagging at times? I'm assuming you're using internet from your phone hot spot? I would suggest for anyone out there, check the wifi version on your phone first. If your phone is newer, then it's using wifi 6 so you might want to buy the firestick that also uses wifi 6 for faster streaming. I myself have not tried this yet but will do it soon. The Firestick with wifi 6 is normally $49.99 but u can get it for $29.99 when it's on sale...like now (4/22/24). lol

We mostly use portable hot spots because we are able to check them out from our local library. But, if we don't have that we'll use our phone hot spots (iphone and verizon). It can lag from time to time but it is pretty reliable overall.

does it play through the car speakers only are can you get it to play on the headphones

It plays just like the dvd player through the speakers or the headphones depending on which option you select through the car's audio settings.
