    I'm actually impressed with that bike. With road tires and a pretty basic TC system, it is able to climb some steep stuff.

    That looked like some gnarly trail dude! Good Luck on your trip to Norway! A better skid plate, hand guards and maybe some crash bars and footpegs with teeth (not the rubber ones!) Ride Safe!

    Great off-road vid of this bike, new. Was looking for exactly this. Good job, looks like a reasonable choice in a bike. Thanks!

    Re-uploaded because I am a noob and somehow the video quality got messed up on the first upload. Someone asked me about the skid plate, I have a random Chinese one from Amazon, I don't recommend it as it was hard to fit and it rattles a lot on the road (although I was able to partially resolve it by putting some rubber between the plate and the engine). Posting the link here just to tell you to avoid it lol: www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B08XXDQR79

    From Salton Sea to Southern France, how lucky. That's a new bike and already you've made mods to it. Footpegs? If only that bike could come to Minnesota. It's a keeper. Who made the skid plate?

    It will probably make it to the dealerships in MN later in 2024. I have the SW Motech footpegs and bar risers. The skidplate is a random one from Amazon, it's not really good. I certainly appreciate having the chance to travel but I actually liked spending my time riding dirt bikes in the CA desert more. Well, I am coming back to the US in December.

    Yeah, I have a random one from Amazon, it was very hard to put on and needed a lot of custom fitting but it doesn't rattle. I linked it somewhere in the comments. If you have money, get a quality one like SW-motech, I wouldn't recommend the one I have.

  • @adv4203

    The gearbox is quite smooth and I really like the suspension, it's much stiffer than on a 2020 CB500X I used to have a while ago. It's not a sport bike but it can a hoot on twisty roads and is very confidence inspiring, just gotta keep it in lower gears to get the most out of the engine as it doesn't have much power

    I live in the High Rockies of Colorado and am on the hunt for a versatile "adventure bike." The primary use case will be for regular commuting and touring on paved highways (sometimes exceeding distances of 100+ miles), but I also plan to do some light camping that requires passage through dirt roads that are oftentimes rocky, bumpy, rough, and uneven. Please help me decide between the 2024 NX500, the 2024 TransAlp, and the 2024 NC750X!

  • @adv4203

    @adv4203

    2 ай бұрын

    I actually lived in Colorado for 5 years before I started living a nomadic lifestyle (Boulder and Park counties). I owned a CB500X in there. I'd personally go with the TransAlp if you have the extra cash. The NC doesn't have enough ground clearance for the rocky stuff. I am also not sure if you can get the NC750X with a manual transmission in 2024, DCT might be not the best choice for off-road. The CBX/NX is a bit low on power for interstate in the US (even in EU, I wouldn't say that it is fun to ride on high speed roads, honestly). It will do it all day but passing will require some planning. Going uphill at 8000ft+ elevations when fully loaded with gear will also not be fun with the NX/CBX.

    I just ordered this bike and was looking for some footage of it. I didn't expect to find a video shot here ! What are the odds ? I live not far from there and drive by this place very often ! The bike seems to handle this path well enough. How tall are you though ? Can you rest flat-foot on the ground ?

    Heya! Congratulations on your order, it took around 2 weeks for mine to arrive! I am quite new to this area, I am visiting EU for a year and currently staying in Nice. I got the bike to do some road trips this summer and just explore in general, it's really gorgeous out here! I saw some other dirt trails when I was cruising around, so I will be coming back this weekend. I am around 6'2 (187ish cm), the bike was a tad small for me in its stock form but I installed lowered pegs and bar risers and now it's much better. Yeah, I can flat foot it easily
