I watched this video about 10-11 months ago when I was making up my mind about this bike. I watched many other videos, but your extended experience with the bike is what closed the deal for me. I got my NCT750X DCT in October 2019 and am extremely happy with it. I mostly commute, and it's fantastic in the city. The DCT transmission is great, allowing me to focus better on traffic conditions. Before the pandemic struck I took a couple of trips to the beach and gave it quite a bit of throttle; great riding and handling at high speeds. I did miss a taller windscreen, though, so that's on my to-do list. I've already had very bright foglights installed, as well as a center stand - which helps a lot when doing cleaning/maintenance. Thanks for your video; it made a big difference. All the best from Santiago, Chile. Happy riding!

Hi Mike, first of all: respect! It’s amazing how you’ve modified this motorcycle to suit your adventure style. I agree, Honda made a great motorcycle here, I used to own the next generation of this bike with the upgraded DCT and I was super happy with it. Did 53000 km in under 2 years travelling in two different continents. Your 160 000 kilometres is definitely impressive. The technology Honda used for this motorcycle is amazing, the DCT works perfectly and makes it a very comfortable and capable adventure motorcycle. I didn’t have many complains, other than the wish for a bit larger fuel tank. My modifications were quite similar to yours, I used a dedicated GIVI accessories, which were very sturdy and practical. Again, kudos to you for how you maintain the motorcycle and for the distance travelled. Subscribed! For sure!

Biggest mistake people make is comparing the dct to a auto transmission and that is completely wrong. I used to say to them you know gtr's, porsche 911, Ferrari and lambos have dct gearboxes. They don't have automatic gearboxes. There is night and day difference between the 2. Well the dct NC has the same gearbox as those supercars. Best way to explain it.

Great job on the Vid. You mentioned being (6' -8"), that's hilarious Mike. I have never heard that one before! I am 2m and am able to ride my 2015 NC700X DCT very comfortably. This is my second NC700. My first one was a 12' manual that i owned for just three years and put 23k miles on it. I just recently traded it to a guy who had a nearly brand new 15' DCT model. He really liked the bike, but wanted a manual instead. So we traded bikes! He loves the manual and i am so happy with my first DCT. I got it with 1640 miles on it and i have already put a couple thousand miles on it. Now that our weather is changing and starting to freeze at night i have to be really careful riding it in the next few weeks before i have to put it away for the winter season up here. Best of luck to you and your travels, keep making/posting great vids Mike. I'm Subscribed!! If you are not already on the forum, check out NC700-Forum dot com. There is a video on KZread. They stripped the NC 750 down to parts and measured the tolerances after 50k on the bike. The motor at 50k was exactly the same as when it rolled off the factory line!! Not saying the NC is the best bike. It does not do anything in particular great. It just does everything good and that is sometimes all you need.

@@steve1962 There's only one way to find out: try to get a ride on one. The NC750X is a pretty 'different' motorcycle. Seat height? I don't know how you ride. My inseam is about 30-1/2 inches, and it's not a problem for me. But really, try to ride one. I've talked to a number of riders who tried demos at events. Most liked the DCT better than the conventional version. Most liked the bike, but said it would take some getting used to. I agree. After 6 years now, I love my NC700X. But I've had some BMW GS rider friends try it out, and they were luke warm.

@@jimshaw899 Hi Jim, do you find it buzzy at hight revs - some have reported it a bit uncomfortable at around 6000 rpm? One thing I've always struggled with is comfort on stock seats - I did find a 2nd hand Corbin seat for one of my 1100RT's and that transformed the bike for me - currently I have a bead rider on my 1100R and find that just about does the trick for me. I will get a test ride on one when the time comes (NC700X is more likely to be in my budget and as these seem to be rock solid reliable I'm not bothered if I find one with high mileage on it as long as it's been serviced)....here's me on mine a few yrs back......kzread.info/dash/bejne/enVtxdikh8Sohs4.html Safe riding.

Out of the countless videos I have seen on the NC since 2014, this has to be the best one. You have legitimately taken a DCT model in challenging areas over 100k miles and have raving results and memories. My biggest hesitation is the engine; I used to have the CTX700 and couldn't stand the weak engine. I've thought hard about swapping my BMW GSA, which I do not like at all, for an Africa Twin. Then I see another NC, ask the Rider what they think, and they say they can ride forever.

Great review. I live in the USA, been retired for 5 years now, just turned 64 and I have the bug again to ride. I use to ride dirt bikes with my son when he was in high school. I have been looking at this bike and the honda cb500X. The 750 is around 60 lbs heavier then the cb500. I have been concerned about the weight, all my experience is dirt bikes 300 lbs or less. I like what I read about the dct system and wonder if the extra weight is a deal breaker or not. Realistically, I would be 65% on road, 35% dirt now. Love to get your input with your experience. BTW, You got my sub, great review.

I actually had a CB500X and rode it over 50,000K in the first year and great bike , the NC750X has a low compression engine and can cruise at 70MPH at about 3,700RPM and the mileage is the same as the CB500X. Lower center of gravity and the Frunk , storage space is brilliant for Touring. I would not hesitate again to buy my NC , and I also have the New X-ADV from Honda which is very similar to the NC but with benefits . I do have a review comparing both on my channel.

Again thank you for commenting, most falls were trouble-free but I did severely bruise my ribs as I went over the handlebars off-road a few years back and before the pandemic on a 28 km off-road track which was really technical there's actually a video of it I broke my left foot but being a DCT I was able to ride back to my home in ubon 1,063 km and then went to the hospital. Other than that a few bruises but now if I do off-road I stay on my CRF 250l which is much easier to handle and definitely lighter.

Thank you very much for your kind words, in fact I've never been stopped for having all the lights on but they are definitely useful for riding day or night and the horn which now is been taken off because it finally broke was very useful when I was traveling outside of Thailand especially in Laos or Cambodia where the drivers are even more crazy. And especially if I was leading a group of riders I always found this horn very useful. Having flashing lights in my opinion is a very safe way for cars to see you coming and especially at u-turns which can be very dangerous as people can't judge the speed of a motorcycle. Ride safe
