    The best part about yoshi is that they put a lot more effort into making sure it sounds nice rather than just making it as loud as they can unlike some other brands *cough* two brothers *cough*

    A sound engineer told me that every 6 decibels the perception of sounds doubles to the human ear. So, with that in mind, it can be argued that the Yoshi exhaust should sound about 75% louder than the original exhaust to the human ear.

    Can't go wrong with the yosh. Sounds much better now mate. I used to have a GSX-R with yosh and pc3 and I was absolutely in love with that bike. Not too loud, not too refined (I can't stand loud bikes).

    Car Craft Auto Detailing thanks. It crazy how expensive the yoshi and akra exhausts are here in Australia with the dollar, import tax and shipping. It’s taken me nearly a year to pull the trigger. Buyers remorse and all. I figured it’d give the monkey a new lease of life. After, and still, watching Million Dollar Bogan it’s pulled me over the line. Keep up the good work!

    Hi, GREAT video series - VERY impressed. Def best Monkey vids on the web!! BTW, did you ever do the followup vid to this one where you road tested the Yoshi pipe? I can't find it anywhere in the series. I was close to getting one of these wonderful bikes and you have reignited the desire. I can see your vids helping SO MUCH with extras when I have mine. Thanks again for incredible content - well done fellow Aussie!

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks, the exhaust on its own isn’t going to give you a very noticeable power increase, but it does sound fantastic and add to the joy of riding the bike. If you add a good air intake and get a stage one ECU tune on the bike that’s when you will see and feel better pickup and a higher top speed. I did that a few months back and absolutely love it.

    If I turn my monkey on without the exhaust on will it mess up my computer and throttle? I was changing the oil and cleaning the filter and I i was gonna see how it sounded without the exhaust on but bike is so sensitive and I have had so many problems I decided not to risk it. It is a poorly designed bike. MAke sure to put a spacer on the spark plug when you change it or remove it or you can damage the whole engine.

    Other than personal preference what’s the gain with the mod exhaust is it purely just sound? I am new to this and my monkey is arriving from the dealer soon. Does it effect performance of the bike? I think the original sounds perfectly great and looks the best to be honest.

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    You wouldn’t typically buy a Monkey for great performance, it’s about fun and enjoyment. The exhaust adds to the rider experience and very minimally to the performance.

    If it’s just the exhaust you’re fitting or modding, you don’t need a remap. But if you also upgrade the air intake then you will need to retune the timing and petrol ratios or else the engine will run a little too lean.
