They also make a RWD oil pan for the K20/24 so you can site the engine up right head up.

Yeah But the Kennedy adapter plate has it clocked so it wouldn't matter.Plus it sits lower on the angle and it wouldn't clear the decklid sitting straight.

Dude holy hell you have no clue how much joy i received from watching this ive had my 914 sitting in my yard rotting away for 3ish years now and i had no clue where to start with this exact swap but this gave me a good general idea of how to do it, thanks for giving me hope and good luck on your build

AND HOLY HELL YOU have no idea how much it means to us that you said that! Doing the whole KZread thing takes tons of time so hearing from people like you makes it worth it. In the newer episodes we really get into redoing the cradle in a much better way. Which we just completed so were getting to were we will start working on the whole engine and how to get this thing moving under it's own power. So stay tuned and good luck on your build my friend!!!

Hey guy you're making progress! If you use the adapter kit from Kennedy Engineering you don't have to use the renegade mounts and you can bolt the transmission up in the stock points which keeps the motor forward. You do have to cut some of the trunk wall to allow the intake and cooling lines to fit, otherwise it ends up a little bit tight. My k24 has been in my car for a year now with a similar 1x3 square tube, however I welded plates to the cross bar that bolt up to the k24 AC pump and power steering pump.

Actually I want the trans and engine back a little. I'm 6'2 and since my windshield was slanted back by Beach Boys Racing. I'm gonna have to move the firewall back so I can fit in the car!!!

We work on it every weekend, and since I've already purchased 90% of the parts needed to complete it. I'm sure it will get done. All I'm missing is the wheel spacers and tires, cant afford them until February. So soon it will be on the ground!!!

Bit late now but did you ever consider the transverse front wheel drive honda motor mounted in the rear?

Absolutely, It was my first thought actually. But once I found the Renegade Hybrids kit for the Boxster S I went that route to keep it inline. If I did it over again I would do the transverse because I think it would of been cheaper and we would be way farther along.

Wait what? You cut off the 914 sail panel? It really isn't a 914 anymore without it, I'd just call it a Gashole K24 2 seater, as that vehicle it looks cool. I would not worry one bit about cutting away the back/trunk, I'd cut it ALL off. I'm planning a W8 in mine 914 will likely remove all that area just because I see no point in it or having a trunk when you have the frunk to put stuff.

Yeah well that part we actually didn't cut. The car was originally hacked up by Beach Boys Racing= their "Monterey" kit. We will update the body some to get it out of the "Miami Vice" look. But I am trying to leave enough space in the trunk to hopefully put a space saver spare tire. I'm not really going to have any room in front thanks to the radiator plus hood vent. Good luck on your project and keep us posted on how it's going.

@@gasholesgarage5083 Never heard or seen this kit, thanks for that info. It looks great, like how a fiero is transformed by some kits. Mine has GT flares, california rust free car got it for $200, missing almost everything, is the guy stripped it for me to get the price down to $200 for a lemons racer. :)

Yeah well having to buy all the parts gets expensive real fast. On my car we stripped it all the way down. then started building it back up upgrading everything along the way. If we were going stock it would be cheaper but still pricey!!! I even bought a parts car to help keep prices down.

Would that engine not fit transversely with the stock 5-6 speed?

Actually I've seen that done! I believe the guy still had to cut into the rear trunk section though. I thought of going that route but I'm going to track this car and I think the weight will be better balanced. Plus I think it looks better facing forward!!! In hindsight, I probably would of been much farther along if I went that route and way way way cheaper. I have been kicking around the idea, that if enough of my yellow, donor car has enough left when I'm done. Then I might put a Transverse mounted K with a six speed in it and make it a Baja.
