    Thumbs up. This is the true test. Take the residential mower and put it in a commercial environment. The deck still looks good and you know this thing has been working overtime. The wheels are worn but what can you expect in this sort of scenario. I saw Garage Gear put some mountain bike tires over the stock wheels.

    I bought my HRN 216 from Home Depot a few weeks ago. I live in the SE and let my grass get 10 or so inches. This mower has had no issues running through the thick stuff. I keep the mower height on 4" for now. Roughly 3500 SF of cutting surfaces. It's perfect 👌🏽.

    That's a phenomenal deal that you got. You can tell that you've put a lot of time in with it based on the wear on the wheels. I'm really tempted by Honda, though I'm a bit concerned with Honda getting out of the business that I might have trouble getting replacement parts 5 or 6 years down the line. I would hope even if Honda stopped making parts that a third party company would step in and start making replacement parts for Honda mowers.

  • @Manifestmowing

    @@Manifestmowing - I'm feeling a bit ripped off for paying full price! lmao. I did get a 10% military discount (home depot) and shipped to my house for free though. I mean I'm not gonna return it even though I'm in the return window. But still sucks hearing how deeply they discount them. Honestly, it's bad business from their side. A discount is expected but 64% off is just giving them away. 30% off would have been more than generous. Either way, good to know for the future I'll start asking my local manager

  • @Manifestmowing

    @Manifestmowing

    I would absolutely look into it. In my area the returns and repairs sit sometimes for a while. The price may not even be on it anymore. The key is to ASK the manager. The manager told me the day before if I wanted it he would sell it for $199 but the sales associate that didn't know the price just guessed and said it's probably 10 percent off. I told her the manager told me $199 she looked at me like I was lying so she called him and the look on her face said it all when she repeated the $199 I told her in the first place.

    @@Manifestmowing Thanks. You probably saved me some money as I will damn sure check with the manager from now on. Ah it sounds like you may have just gotten a cool af manager. For a second I was thinking that 64% off was just a Lowes policy price for that model of return. To be fair you can't really blame the girl though. I'd have thought you were lying too, 64% off for a returned item is pretty nuts. I buy previously returned items all the time (albeit with musical instruments usually at Sweetwater) and the best I've seen is 20% off but usually less.

  • @Manifestmowing

    I honestly didn't think I would like the side discharge but was pleasantly surprised. It actually works very well. I can't speak to if the HDX is worth the extra $200. But in my opinion if I had to guess it probably is because this mower has been that good. It still runs like a champ and always starts on the first pull and has a great cut quality.

    @@Manifestmowing In my opinion some rubber on the wheels, bearings instead of whatever this has, a little bit more power, they barely larger bag and whatever else is not worth 200 more dollars! Rubber trade from a mountain bike tire $20 plus a handful of short screws a slightly larger lawnmower bag $53 to $55. So you can have the larger bag and drippy rubber wheels with barely less power for about $625! Or in your case about $275!! So no I don’t believe it’s worth another $200 for $75-$100 worth of parts and maybe like a half hp to 1 hp more. Because with those $75 of upgrades it will be a fantastic mower and you also probably save some weight of about 10 pounds weight savings! You’re paying those $200 for a few things that don’t really matter and about 10 extra pounds heavier of a mower! Which would be like paying $200 for your girlfriend or whatever to gain 10 pounds!😂
