I have a 1999 Forman 400 and it has been a great machine. I don’t ride it as much as I used to but I starts every time and I have used it for all sorts of activities. Trail riding, hauling a ton of fire wood out of the woods , snow plowing. It does sit low but I like the how the center of gravity is on this bike compared to a newer Forman. Mine goes about 45-50 MPH

I have always wanted a Forman. Those were the simple and easy to work on days.

If you apply a very light amount of pressure to the front brakes, that fourth wheel will lock up and pull.

I have this exact same bike in almost identical condition, 96. Just had it serviced, $1400 all kinds of seals, the steering gear, bushing and column rebuild, carb rebuild and tie rod ends. All original and its been ran hard and sat in the rain for nearly 30 years. Pretty impressive it had never needed more than an oil change before that. If it weren't for the carb running rich and gassing up the oil I would have kept driving it that way too.

Theses machines are built like tanks, they go anywhere, you can slide them over logs, rocks, mud, snow. I would avoid big mudholes but its such a small machine that you will find a path around the mud..heehee I love these machines!

Was that a vt plate on the woods truck? I live in vt I have the exact same four wheeler as I grew up In the 90s these year model Honda’s to me are the best for sure a small low machine but a true work horse and will stand the test of time unlike some American brands …. Nice vid she runs good cheerz!

My grandfather owned a 01 400, it was just passed down to me. It's been worked pretty good but still runs beautifully. Do you know anywhere to get parts for them? I would like to fix it up with my son.

These Honda’s are still very easy to buy parts for. You can buy from any of the oem online stores, I use partzilla a lot. Or you can find much cheaper aftermarket parts for these on eBay.

Yeah these foreman’s aren’t really speedy machines they were always in my opinion built for mudding, and pulling heavy things but they’re ok with speed if you ever need it

Yes I agree I’ve drove plenty of machines with no rear suspension at all so this is a Cadillac compared to them. Once you get used to the plush suspension and the power steering you definitely notice when a machine doesn’t have it.

yep. i have an 84 trx 200 and a 02 honda rancher electric shift. the engine on the rancher runs like gold. but since it's an electric shift and 20 years old, it wouldn't shift. and they have this little access shaft so you can shift it when it won't shift. so i just made a stick shift for it. and so far, the only thing i did to the trx 200 is clean the air filter, change the oil, and put a new tire on it.
