Hello Srinivas, I face the same issue in my 5th gen City V-CVT. The CMBS has often put me in scary situation by auto applying the brakes when there was no need of it. Above all it cannot be permanently disabled. I asked Honda today during my 2nd service and I was told that it is government norm for ADAS to have the CMBS auto enable during the car ignition and Honda has only complied to this norm.

Yes, at times CMBS creates havoc. That huge sound really scares. Above all - During CMBS braking, I worry much on what's happening behind than what's going on in Front 😁, by having a glance at IRVM.

Srinivas, I assume the side mirrors are auto foldable on locking the car. Is that right? Also, do the window glass and sunroof close automatically upon locking?

Side Mirrors YES, Window glass and Sunroof auto closure feature is not available on Elevate, though its available on New Honda City. And ofc, auto AC switching ON is available from outside with the Key, and also can be done through Honda Connect App. From App you can also start/stop engine, door lock/unlock etc can be done.

Hi Srinivas, once again a very important video with helpful info. My question though is can we control the distance at which the car applies auto brakes? When i test drove this, the SA encouraged me to go closer to the car ahead...I must have been at a 1.5m distance and my reflex was to slow down the car irrespective. The SA was confident that cmb will kick in, but my mind wasn't allowing me to test it like that. Upon getting slightly closer the light blinked but i was pressing the brake pedal by then, so the light went off :)

There is no adjustment for the distance at which it can be activated. It works on all subjects, irrespective of a vehicle, a wall, a pedestrian (people) or a tree ahead.

Hi, Thanks for the video. I too have CVT ZX and feels like in crowded area the system unnecessarily detects somthing in front and does a warning sign by beeping and suddenly apply breaks by making a trigger sound. Did you felt the same ??

Hi,your videos are very helpful and after watching them i am about to book zx cvt model Please clear my doubts 1. I HAVE A VERY TIGHT PARKING SPACE, While parking WILL THE CAR APPLY BRAKES ON ITS OWN(if i dont keep my leg on brake pedal) IF THERE IS A WALL IN FRONT OF IT TO AVOID COLLISION? 2) In bumber to bumber traffic does it apply brake to avoid collision with other cars? Should i install a front camera?

Firstly Thank you for the appreciation. 1. Even my Parking is so congested and tight, But NO, CMBS wont always help you in tight parkings, as the minimum speed above 5 kmph is reqd for CMBS to kick in. 2. You have a distance setting in CMBS, you can adjust it by changing the graphic lines like short/normal/long. So you better change/select the shortest one. 3. YES, Car does apply brakes in bumper to bumper traffic, but again the system requires minimum speed as mentioned. Car applies brakes mildly or hardly depending upon the speed and distance of the vehicle ahead. 4. Installing front camera specially for ADAS braking is NO better than the ADAS provided by the company. Ofc you can install sensors, but sensors will only give warning than braking. NO external fitment will/can integrate with the car braking system. If any mechanic says, we can fit an equipment to integrate with braking system, your vehicle is damaged for good.

@@rohansurve649 Definitely, you will love it for sure. Go for it And i turned off all the ADAS features excepting CMBS (Collison Braking), as it cannot be turned Off permanently, You can turn OFF after ignition ON, but will turn ON back by default when you restart the vehicle/ignition.

TPMS monitoring is available in Honda Connect App, But Honda TPMS is too costly at 11K, but can be synced to Honda Connect App. You can go for JK Tires TPMS which is widely reviewed positively and lot lesser and comes around 5k or so., but a separate App may be installed for real time accessing.

sir, zx varient worth it over vx ? cmbs default on is not best for me. if driver drive the car who doesnt know how to turn it off.then ?

ZX Extra features to VX Leather Seats, ADAS, IVRM Night dimmer, Luxurious look inside, 10" screen, Rear seat center arm rest, 8 speakers to 6 on VX and few more features. ZX is worth. if 1 lakh more u can spend but ADAS is not at all required. So. VX is better if u r not concerned of above things

Hello Shrivanivas, thanks for the most relevant video before purchasing Elevate. 1. I want to know if you have faced issue while taking U Turns on highways or when over 4kmpl limit? I am wondering if the vehicle stops in the middle of taking U turning if you faced any such issue? 2. Second concern is female drivers like my mother can find cmbs challenging? Is that so?

Ofc CMBS is safer.. But it will only activate after 7kmpl speed. Never did i face any inconvenience in U-Turns. And secondly, it doesn't bother you during U-Turns. It mostly gives you warning indicators on dash board, but only activates when the object/vehicle is right in front of the vehicle. In my 6 months on this vehicle, ot activated some 4-5 times max. And Its very smooth vehicle, females can feel ease at driving. Go for it

Have you noticed those orange alerts? Because In my Elevate those alerts came just once so far. I got the vehicle scanned at the Honda for that CMBS problem/lane... Problem error. I don't know if that's normal at all

@@abhinavsaxena9970 Not to worry. its normal. Those alerts come only when battery linkage is disturbed. like 1.if you unknowingly disturbed wiring underneath driving seat while cleaning, placing any mats etc. 2.if battery link is removed and replaced back or disturbed. And the alerts will be displayed in orange with a problem indication, its a default safety precaution. It will be set back to normal automatically after driving for 20 kms.

If it’s on also nothing will happen, we have to break enough when driving in busy traffic and busy pedestrian area

Is cmbs remains on even after turning off on certain conditions?

CMBS Once turned OFF, it doesn't turn ON until the drive/engine is running. CMBS turns back ON automatically when engine/ignition key restarted. So, CMBS cannot be turned OFF permanently.

My 2013 volvo v40 came with city safety, similar to auto braking in elevate, but every time i turn it off cause it find it not useful for indian traffic, thrice it has autobraked when i was very much under control,thank God no vehicles were behind.

What is the mileage u r getting on highway in manual transmission as well as city?

what confusion. I am loving it. dont at all worry abt ADAS. It doesnt bother you..rather helps u with warnings, The vehicle is very good. now its already one month passed for me..and i am very much used to its handling, Its super smooth and pick up is too awesome I am easily able to overtake vehicles at 90 to 100 above also. Initially u would get confused of features, but in few drives, u will understand your vehicle fully. Go ahead and Take..You will definitely love it and its gonna be a wise decision.

Zx has leather wrapped steering. Whats the need for another layer over it to add the weight and width.

I was in a hurry for one as the original steering cover was so slippery. Now i am actually going for a much better cover in Tan and Black mixed.

This error is displayed when any Electrical/Electronic linkages are disturbed. i too experienced it when i was fitting the Ventilated seat cover. But got back to normal after 20 kms. Its not a worrying thing. it's a safety precaution.

@@abhinavsaxena9970 ofc, you can insist them to check. if any such errors show up next time, make a video or photograph to show them. And again when you see those warnings, check if it gets to normal after 20 km drive..

Service centers are very costly for general service also compared to hundai n tata.. n they guy's are not responding properly in Bangalore n Kadapa.. in hida brakepads are life time is 6 to 8k only my frnd hundai he got 40k life time.

i may qoute.. you are wrong. Honda Service is very good. Service cost is just 2 to 4k, depends upon the oil you choose. and my old car Honda WRV run for 30k kms (4½yrs) Not a single spare did i replace apart from routine servicing needs. Ofc i bought a new battery 4 yrs later. Honda never asks you to replace parts, rather not reqd to replace parts before and beyond the stipulated time period.

@@premlshrini I'm maintaining Honda wrv since 5 years now.. for every time they are charging for general service also 10k last month I was done general service in Bangalore Whitefield. Honda Brakepads are very bad.. that's I was shifted to boush brake disc pads now it's successful running 20k without issue..

@@SaiMohanB-uv5iu its hard to take, normal routine servicing is just labour, servicing, and filter changes, and Oil ofc. it should not be costing more than 4 or 5k max if u say. 10K is way high. Check ur service invoice after servicing, and u can question the chrgs. else they might have replaced any fluids or coolant etc.

Yeah, it did help me once, A person on bike, suddenly took a turn in front. Though i did brake manually, CMBS halted my vehicle. Ofc traffic was moving at a snails pace, so no issues from behind.

Hi Srinivas, i have Elevate ZX MT , while braking hard i hear a noise from the front like Tak-Tak-Tak, can anyone help me with this. I am guessing this might the ABS kicking in.

I guess so, But i didn't feel any such, and might be due to CMBS also. if your ADAS (CMBS) is ON and when it kicks in, you hear a different kind of braking sound to normal braking. Infact CMBS braking sound is to drew attention of the driver. During normal foot braking, i didn't observe any kind of noise like u mentioned. Turn off CMBS and check if the noise is still heard. & are u feeling any vibrations on your brake pedal during such noise?

⁠@@premlshriniit is not CMBS, as i tried it on an empty road but it only occurs when the car is above 50kmph and there is no vibrations at the paddle in any scenario.

@@premlshriniupdate - took the car to service centre, they have acknowledged and are still trying to diagnose the issue, they did brake calliper lubrication and did a test drive but issue remains. As of now they are clueless.

Idle start/stop feature is, suppose you are stopped at signal engine stops and when you accelerate it starts automatically, mainly to save fuel @@premlshrini

you mean ADAS ? Nope not all. Detects only objects, humans, animals, vehicles, trees etc. but not speed brakers.

Steering bht hi slippery laga..mere haath fisal rahe the..So immediately jo shop dikha..vaha se jo available Steering wheel cover mila..vo lagaya. In fact cbms is very dangerous in city limits and bumper to bumper traffic. Just imagine if you brakes suddenly and rear vehicle hits you. This possibility of this scenario is 100% obvious. Can you confirm please

Ofc agree with you, but its been 45 days for me, didn't face any inconvenience. Once you get used to it, you don't feel bothered abt it. I live in Hyderabad, huge traffic. ADAS is the new norm going ahead, but ADAS is useless ofc.

@@premlshrini I live in hyd too and I'm planning for HondaCity SV considering these Adas features useless in city conditions and on highway it is better to keep car under physical control rather than technology. I believe ADAS is new technology for indian conditions and yet to prove its metal.

@@pareshnmahapatra Ofc ADAS is useless, but in Highway driving, it doesn't interrupt at all. Because apart from CMBS, rest all can be turned off permanently. And today i drove around 500 kms with very high speeds, enjoyed the driving, ADAS didn't bother at all. CMBS too didn't bother apart from warnings on dashboard. But didn't force initiate braking at all.

@@pareshnmahapatra No..i just leave it, but as i said, once you are used to ur vehicle, you will be less concerned abt it. It wont interfere as we get used to the control of the vehicle. On very fist day CMBS didi surprise me, but got used to it now, and i control the vehicle, rather than CMBS.
