My minivan is set up similar to this. I have a coffin ⚰️ box bed 🛏️ that takes about 2/3 of the width. Back corner has a 22v plug 🔌 so input the cooler there. Dry food in front. And in front of my dry food storage....dog 🐕 food the bed lifts up like a coffin but also has a hinged 1/3 (directly behind driver seat) that lift tilts on a separate hinge; 1) Daily clothes access 2) props the 'bouch" (bed 🛏️ couch 🛋️) into a lounge chair that I can use to full appreciation while hatch is open and dual sliders are open.

There is tie down near the floor in the element that it is attached to. And the I rigged up something to wedge into the handle that’s up by the roof. Other than that it isn’t secured in any other way. I’ve had no issues with it shifting or anything though.

Enjoyed the video so much, I watched it twice! I made the same mistake with my first van build by putting all the storage below the bed in storage benches... hard on the back and so inconvenient. I've got a 2005 Grand Caravan SXT which has the stow-n-go seating. The bed is designed to lift the front half to a vertical position, allowing the middle seats to be accessed when needed. Otherwise, the bed was built low enough to sit up comfortably, use the shelf above the wheel well as a countertop or desk, and still have six inches of storage below. So happy with the way this second build is turning out. I've been building it more slowly and trying out my ideas as I go... much easier to make revisions or change the plans.

Carter Collins in my old setup I had a plastic bin for dry food and then a big rotomolded cooler for cold storage. Took up too much space do I decided to ditch it with this design. Dry food usually goes in my box behind the passenger seat. If I go back out full time I’ll probably get a smaller soft sided cooler like a pelican and keep it on the shelf.

Ultramagnetic Astroplaner sweet man. That’s exciting. Yeah I made the shelf. The car paneling is still on, I just contoured the back of the shelves to roughly match up with the inside of the car wall. It’s attached at to points: the hanger bar up top and a little tie down hook at the bottom that comes in the car. I didn’t want to drill into the frame but this is actually working really well.
