Honda Civic Type R FL5 Review Driving Impressions | Is it just an overpriced Civic?

Yeeees, I was sweaty. The FL5 was just that much of a hot hatch haha!
Though I stand by my conclusion! Albeit I do not have the finances myself to afford one, PHP 3,870,000 sounds like a steal already! Building yourself a car from scratch to this level of performance, refinement, and dailiability(plus warranty), you'd spend more the 3.8 Million in blood, sweat, tears, shops, actual money, and time. That plus is that I love how it performs stock! There's barely anything I want to touch maybe unless I'd make it a dedicated race car.
Thanks Honda! Good car! I can truly feel that the culmination of Honda philosophies have converged on the FL5 Civic Type R!!!

I used to hate the FL5 because of its less aggressive styling compared to the FK8, but now the subtle styling of the FL5 is growing on me. I think she is cute. Your review of the FL5 is really good. I'm convinced that it is a better out of the box race car than the FK8. I wish I had 3.9M, I would definitely buy one right away. 😍

Mine is R-00372 - I am converting my front and rear seats from a Donor 2023-2024 Integra Type-S and save my FL5 seats for now.

Superb review unlike most reviewer who only shares pros and no cons. Glad you pointed out the flaws.

Perfect performance car for kids and beginners to high performance driving. Cheap, and reliable. Also easy to drive. Downside is it will not make you a better racer in the long run.

I wonder why in the phil the price of a car is so expensive. To think phil is just near japan, here in the us the mrsp of fl5 is 45k but after mark up its around 50 to 60k depends on the dealership or how you deal with the salesman. But if you convert 60k dollars in phil peso it is only around 3 milyon pesos but nobody buying that for 60k you can buy that in low 50,s

Might as well go for the Acura Integra Type S! Though not made in Japan, for me it has better styling and way more luxurious plus the engine power got upgraded to 320hp due to added weight

Almost all the things you don’t like are for a sports car enthusiasts. Manual (cumbersome)seats, by the way are 40 lbs less than automatic luxury seats and hold you in corners better than almost any other car seats. Manual transmission which is better than all other manuals except maybe a $200K Porsche GT3. If you want a convenient easy to drive car in traffic buy an accord or super heavy overpriced Nissan Z. I could go on and on but those things are the way they built it for enthusiasts not people worried about getting in the car or traffic! It’s for lightweight.

45k Euro is a fine price for HONDA reliability and long lasting , compare that with BMW, Mercedes and Audi service cost performance and engine/ transmission problems , HONDA ALL THE WAY got type R 2019 for weekends and Insight ze2 1.5 for everyday job for economy since i drive 50 to 80 km a day very satisfied with both ( DONT FORGET BEST CLUTCH IN THE HISTORY OF CARS COMES IN THE LAST 2 TYPE R MODELS )
