Fantastic review. Everything on point. Honda city a deserved winner. Feels more like civic than a city. I got honda city ZX CVT. The things which could have been better as 1. Touch screen experience. It's smooth and responsive, but less resolution(480p - Verna offers 720p in top variant). Visibiltiy in daylight could have been much better. Wish they gave rotary physical buttons for touchscreen. The lanewatch is a problem if you are navigating. 2. Noise creeps into cabin if you are travelling at the rear. All the more reason to upgrade to better tyres. 3. Missing ergonomics like sliding front armrest, height adjustable seatbelts. 4. Wish more features like wireless charging, powered/ventilated seats were provided. Overall, i am very happy with honda city.

When you are crusing on highway on a cvt with 100-110 speed... Is there more noise?? What about rubber band effect?

@@debapriyaghosh2999 There is some noise while traveling at rear, but less at the front. The rubber band effect is well contained, and u feel it only when u hard press the accelerator. In normal driving conditions you won't notice. It is one of the best CVTs.

1and 3 yes . WIsh it was better . The Reverse camera has very bad resolution , its a shame, The guidelines are not dynamic either . The lane watch aslo has pretty bad resolution . Need to connect with a device for navigation , atleast it could have given a wireless connectionb to phone or device for navigation . The car over all is very good but the Visual tech on infotainement system is a huge let down . cvt is good like you mentioned in city , press hard the rubber band feel comes in thats not a huge bother though .

City all the away...honda engines goes on forever...whole world knows honda builts the best engines...toyota transmissions...if they merge they can build the most reliables ....

A very well detailed comparo. But what surprises me is the pricing of these two. While ex-showroom prices dont seem that much, On road in bangalore, Verna SX(O) DCT costs ₹ 17.40 Lakh, while the City Costs ₹ 17.74 Lakh. That is not a small amount by any means. The question however is, do you think these vehicles really worth all that money?

Very few people review car like this. Most of them get carried away by technology, sunroof, and music system and forget that cars are primarily a means of transport not a movie theater. You gave more effort to describe the power, handling and riding comfort which is much more important than blulink, handsfree boot opening and mood lighting kind of stuff. Keep doing the good work.

I've been researching over the two cars for over a month. Budget is 13L so my choices were Verna SX and City V. I've seen nearly 100 reviews including some articles. My conclusion is that both cars are what is colloquially called 19/20. You won't be disappointed in buying either for sure. If features such as sun/moon roof, wireless car charging, smart trunk, 16" alloys are more important to you, go for Verna SX. If safety, comfort in driving and rear seating and overall engine quality, go for City V. I personally feel City VX and Verna SX(O) are expensive for the sedan budget and one could consider SUV in that budget. To each it's own though. A simpler comparison is between Apple and OnePlus/Samsung, where former is City and latter two are Verna. They're both great and it's only a matter of choice. Whoever tells that Hyundai Verna engine isn't good enough; well I have driven i20 Magna 2010 edition for 10 years and it was as smooth as a new car. No engine noise whatsoever.

Honda city comes out the clear winner in safety.

Buy manual to feel real strength of iVTEC.... City is King.

Drive dynamics and power and driver's car is Hyundai Verna, for backseat priority Honda city is the choice. However in terms of safety Honda is miles ahead from its competition

I Have New Verna First I Am Thinking To Buy City But Verna Has Better Engines And More Features And Verna Is More Stylish

Potential buyers for the City, WRV,. ensure to get clear warranty (extended) at least for the Digipad infotainment system as this will cease to function soon or certainly at a later stage and will have to shell out a good amount. Check out the Internet for previous ownership experiences.

@@drsiddhantvaishhnavmbbs there are few things I looked at before purchasing and I don’t regret it at all. 1. city has better cabin space, better head room, very comfortable interior and huge boot space. If you are tall enough like above 5.10 then please go with city. I am 6 ft tall and my head used to hit the top when I sit on the rear seat of Verna. 2 . On long run the cabin feels so smooth in city due to its wonderful dampening. I won’t give 10/10 but will give 8.5. Comparing with Verna its way better. 3. The petrol variant feels really bossy when I take the pilot seat in Honda city. Now coming to Verna. Its powerful. If you are a person who likes a sports feel n doesn’t really care for anything then Verna takes a better place. The engine roars beautifully. The diesel variant gives stunning mileage and refined engine as well. Me being a long tour person, I hardly feel tired driving Honda because of its ergonomics. But one thing I want to tell u is the city doesn’t have ventilated seats. Rest everything is flawless

I am 4th gen honda user. The quality is very bad and service is expensive 😞. No idea about current generation but 4th gen suspension is hard and you will feel every thing on the road. Thay give thin tyers they are the major problem. Service schedule is for every 6 months no idea what is there to service for every 6 months. The problems list is big so visible in honda sales.

I am using a 2017 jazz bro, the service is expensive as far as the 6 months period is concered, other than that no issues so far despite the bad plastic quality honda offers great engine and the suspension is stiff for my liking and good steering feedback and slick and presice gearbox which kinda compensates the hard plastics, the fancy features in hyundais doesnt excites me, people will say no low end torque in ivtec blah bhlah blah..idc i love my honda!

@@abhinavviswanadh5591 same, jazz 2017. I don't fault the plastic quality at all. It's fine but the car really lacks any bling inside. Those numerous dummy buttons(engine start stop, central locking for example). The fit and finish I feel is better than the 4th gen City. But, one thing is for sure. Indian Jazz is the worst equipped Jazz in the world. No 6 airbags, traction control, hill start assist, telescopic steering, magic seats, 1.5l engine etc!

@@xp5158 plastics tend to scratch even on slight rubbing with other objects, as you said about the equipments the inclusion of all these including the L15 engine would increase the price further and it would affect sales of honda city i am satisfied with my L12 as of now but the L15 would be another level if included, and it is one great package such a versatile car great for city runs, excellent highway cruiser has descent ground clearence for rough roads and perfect for roadtrips and regarding the dummy buttons, being not a fan of funky interiors im the wrong person to tell about this😊

I dont agree with the review given. I test drive the city and it has no power, no drive quality nothing at all. If u try to overtake the engine feels and sounds as if u have squeezed the engine neck. So much cabin noise its so irritating. Yes the city is completely the winner if we talk about the space and material used but the verna is a complete winner if u can compromise a bit on space. I booked the city but luckily dint get the city due to unavailability so booked verna turbo and trust me guys verna is a winner in all the aspects leaving the back row space.
