Hi, I picked a used Honda city 2012 model couple of days back, very happy with the 1st honda, however I am getting very bad FE with AC On in bumper to bumper traffic, just wanted to know if this is normal ? I come from Maruti cars driving all my life and this was a shocker. If this is abnormal, what should I get it checked ? I loaded fuel for 3k on the first day which was approx 30ltrs and it got over in 2 days and I had covered around 90km, fuel low light lit on. Also I did oil change after I got the vehicle, I went for shell helix 0w30 fully synthetic. Oil and filter change along with coolant was done before I had started driving. So the 3rd day I didn't use AC, I started driving sedately and I could see fuel not dropping down, trip meter was now showing 12kmpl compared to 6kmpl before. But the moment I put the AC on, fuel is sucked very fast and I don't hear the AC fan stopping at all, it keeps running continuously. I wanted to know from honda owners if this is normal or should this be checked? My driving is not crossing above 3k rpm maybe few overtakes here and there which is normal. I felt I need to report here, if at all if this is abnormal what should I get inspected ?

Hi John, I'd recommend paying attention to the instant fe section which is given in the mid.. try to keep it at or above 20 and you should be sorted. Also, i believe using the ac shouldn't create that much of a difference. try doing this and it might help.

No normaly full tank runs 400.km minimum your car need some checks on either spark plug

I had this problem, not 6 tho, I was getting ~9 in kolkata traffic ( which is quite congested ). My AC was the problem, went to honda service center for AC gas recharge. They asked me to keep the car for 2-3 days as they need to do inspection if there is any other problem like leakage of ac coolant or problem of ac compressor. If its just gas recharge problem, they will charge around 2.8k if there are other problems found it will be quite a lot. Came back home and went to a local car ac mechanic. Gas recharge was 800 and some serviceing he did for 200 and asked me to come within 6 months if any problem arise. I am getting 12-13km in kolkata traffic now. I hope your problem is already fixed by now as its almost 7 months. Do let us know what was the actual issue.

Honda Petrol are low on mileage but this is very very low. Get your car checked at authorized centre. Add a Motul/Liqui Moly Injector cleaner in full tank. Anyways it been 1 year. Hope your issue is sorted by now or either you have sorted the car itself

You are literally asking the question in a video where most of us commenting are honda city owners. It may look like a biased opinion. HONDA CITY is a reliable car in PETROL. 2-3 lakh if you are going to drive why not think about Toyota diesel. ( just a thought)

Sirf oil and filter change karani hai to idhar bhi 3300 se 4200 (depending on which city) me ho jata hai woh bhi synthetic wala. 7000 tab parta hai jab honda extra kaam apne se hi jor dete hai. like Engine bay wash, suspension inspection. Periodic AC maintainance, Wheel Rotation, etc

Sir get ur car serviced, get your air filter replaced along with engine oil, get your car fuel line system cleaned, get your tuning checked get your carbon deposit clea and last but not the least always keep ur tyres inflated with the recommended psi 36-38 your car's milage and performance will increase drastically @mohammed kadir

try to maintain 32 psi in back tyres. also go slow ( I mean really slow so that the car behind you will have to come on a halt and honk you). Once you are up in the incline apply light brake while coming down the bump. This will help in most of high speed bumps
