I dont know nothing about mechanic not engine engineering, but man I wish i could work with those guys and learn. I have a 2001 Honda CBR 929RR.

Awesome video. I have a 2000 CBR 929 with 77k miles on it. It still runs and drives strong, but has developed some oil leaks, a weird cooling issue and needs a paint job. I need to go through my bike as you masterfully shown here. This bike deserves it.

Ive changed engine for 954. Its very nice design. So clean and simple. Owned one for couple of years.

One of the best liter bikes ever made. Easy to ride fast and very forgiving. Rode one just like this.

@@dieudonnembalambalaa look for one with maintenance history. These are well built bikes, not much go wrong with them unless abused and messed with. Easy to repair. Recommend this bike to you only if you are an experienced rider. This is a liter bike, deadly quick. Good luck

@@1970PMD having own one it's famous for cylinder knocking so one must warm her up enough to ride her. Else the other minimal ones like auto CCT and clutch basket torque springs need to be changed on wear and tear.

What they didn't show you was, that you have to have new liners made and coated then fitted, and that ain't cheap, and where do you get the work done 🤷 Couple that with the cost of the pistons/rings, plain bearings, gaskets and all the other stuff you do whilst you're in there and you can say goodbye to £3k+ easily, then there's all that work, just try to take in the amount of it. If you can't do it yourself, once again you're paying, imagine that bill 😬 And all because this bike is fitted with Alusil liners from new, not a good idea, didn't work that well. I've seen a stripped one of these up close and personal, bores and pistons ripped to bits. This video is the best I've seen so far as why to avoid this bike at all costs!

Dont touch it if theres nothing wrong with the bike

This guy spent as much time filming, charging cams, setting up tripods, editing, etc. , as he did re- building. Great job. You can tell the guys who are single, or soon to be!😆

Superbe mot attachante, j'en ai eu une, jaune et noire, de 2003 à 2019, elle me manque beaucoup, la marque Honda en fait... Superbe restauration, juste dommage par contre de ne aborder la méthode utilisée pour la réparation des slaps piston, est ce que le bloc cylindre + pistons ont été changés, ou est ce une rectification avec pistons, segments côte + 25 ? On imagine que le bloc cylindre à été changé, car là dessus il me semble qu'il y a un traitement nikasil de surface vu que c'est de l'aluminium. Hormis ça, chapeau.

From Costa Rica, dear friend, I have that same motorcycle and in Costa Rica, the person who works on the lathe does not know if that engine can have the cylinders rectified. In your video it can be seen that you do the same work but it doesn't look good if you change the pad or rectify it? Thanks for the help and for your response friend, I hope you can help me.

Nice rebuild, didn't show the cylinder scoring solution - overbore or liners? But I am flummoxed most by why you put the old ratty chain back on..... WTF!

Can you do my blade from 2003?

I have the exact same bike...2002 CBR954RR...... Rode it today in fact, and think i've got a bad coil(s) at the moment for it seems to have lost top-end power and will stutter, vibrate when i try to accelerate to pass at speeds above 75-90 mph.

What is the value that should indicate the vacuum when synchronizing the injection bodies?

The value need to be 0 between cylinders, and the vacuum scale is determinated by idle

Can I ask? Did you guys fit cylinder liners here? If so, how much did you bore it by to fit them and did you change the piston rings to something different to work with those?

i am in glendale az would someone please reply to my comment everyone else also wants to know where to get cylinders repaired and purchase pistons and other bits and pieces needed to do this job it does not happen magically like this video implies i have two 954s two 929s two 919s two 900s and one 1000 fireblades all with 25,000 miles or more i obviously love these bikes and desperately need info on availability of engine parts and where to purchase them i know chassis parts and such are easy to find from multiple sources and this video author does not reply to anyone that is really disappointing great bikes but without a good running engine they are just Garage Art

You can find these for like $4000 used in Canada now so yeah. But the old bikes have more character than the new bikes so why get rid of it?

Were the cylinders over bored or were new cylinders and pistons used? Would love some more insight as to how you fixed the damage.
