Honda CB650R - Commute Review | Long-Term Report #2
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Honda CB650R joined our longterm test ride fleet two weeks ago. After unboxing it, it was just about the time to take it out for a city ride, to see how good it really is as a commuter. Here's our first Honda CB650R review.

About fuelconsumption, my bike runs at least 20 km/l. And that's when I really ride it as if I've loaned it and stole the petrol! Some relaxing backlaning in 100km/h and it runs 24km/l. And the seat comfort is better after a few months. I've done 21000km on mine and it's still a treat. I'm 180cm 80 kg and been riding for more than 30 years.
The video was recorded before the lockdown, with social interaction reduced to minimum. Now, we're staying at home, cutting off motorcycle riding to the minimum. #StayHealthy

Do you really believe all the Corona Virus BS? Especially as you are in the confinement on your motorbike with a helmet on and most of the time on the open roads.

@Robbie D there is one rational argument for staying home instead of riding: if you do get in a wreck, and end up in an hospital, you'll end up using resources that could be used treating Covid patients. You'll also be in a place concentrated with Covid patients- increasing the risk that you'll be exposed. With that said, I still ride. I'm just pointing out that it's not irrational to reduce riding for Covid.
Looking forward to the mountain report. Stay safe; stay healthy.
The shots from the chase bike / car look awesome. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Respect for you guys !!!🤟
Nice review. You covered quite a bit. I have the former model, a 2018 CB650F and love it. I was going to get the CB650R, but I got a deal on the previous year's inventory in 2019, so couldn't resist the heavy discount.
Thanks for the video. Stay healthy. Cheers.
Great job guys! Huge fan from your videos! If you come to Mexico let me know.
Great little bike. I bought one a year ago for commuting. Ideal on twistys too. 👍🏴🇬🇧
Great review. Regards from Brazil.
Great review. It's definitely a bike I'm interested in post Covid-19 :-( When you said the seat\suspension was hard and it would give you a sour bum, that made me laugh. Keep up the good work.
Great presentation, Thank You ! Really helped me as I am considering this bike for commuting 90% in Bogotá, Colombia (10 million souls, hectic traffic). From a BMW F800R, more $$$$ in repairs than gas & oil. Honda IS quality.
Cool video,Honda 👍
Yeah, that's nice too. Win win
Ottima recensione! Al mio cb650r ho cambiato il porta targa ed è sensibilmente migliorata l'estetica. ✔
very nice bike!
Great review I had one for 6 months to get back in to riding after 28 years Done 4000 miles (6400 KM) then swapped it for cb1000 it’s a fantastic bike but the 1000 is like night and day better apart from fuel consumption about 65 U.K. mpg on the 650 and about 52 on the 1000

Will you get 65mpg? And how aggressive on the throttle?
Thanks for good review How tall are you ?
Șiiii continuă seria😁. Keep up the good work!!! Off topic...mi s-a părut mie sau te-ai lovit de problema media mod-ului? Și anume: dacă gopro-ul e închis și dai quick capture, va înregistra cu microfonul camerei și nu cel extern.

Do you have a further update for this bike. I presume that it's been replaced by the F900R in your fleet by now?
Good video but I feel like the music was unnecessary. The video is already entertaining enough.
Good work dude ! I used to come to your service like 7-8 years ago. You have come a long way ! Btw, regarding this video, im gonna get this exact same model soon. Very good machine. Numai bine !
Long term report? That appears to be your first ride. I would be down thumbing this vlog because of that but will let you off this time as enjoy your reviews. LOL When is the next "Long Term Review" as it is now the end of August and this was made in March?
How does it compare to the 2007 or later Hornet?
This is the first from my Drivemag subscription where I thought you set a poor example with your filtering and riding style in traffic.

I’m 5ft talk 132 lbs, is it posible for me to drive it with no issues?
is the cb650r good for a passenger? I am purching one
Hi, have you trade in your Hornet for this ? Is IT better than the Hornet, I liked 😉😄👍,. Greetz Alexander
Bought this a few weeks ago. Can see it as a classic with a cult following. Now for an owners club
Te salut. Eu ti-as recomanda incaltari moto, cu protectie, la fel si pantaloni. Cred ca sarim niste etape. Prima data e echipamentul, dupa e motocicleta. Asfalt uscat :)
can you compare with the trident 660?
Which do you prefer cb650r or cb1000r?

Thanks for this informative video! Anyone: would you choose this bike for the MT 07? I am a new rider. Thanks so much

Manuel Perez Do you want lineair screaming (high-high) power at 12000rpm (CB650R) or torque pulling (high-low) power at 8000rpm (MT07) ?
@rolandfullthrottle8316
4 жыл бұрын
Sorry , gotta be more clear here . I did my lessons on a MT07, good bike for newbies but boring. And it doesn’t make you feel special, to be honest. It has the torque from the 2-cylinder but sounds like a tractor... built quality okay but not great. The CB650R looks sporty but vintage, it rides great but has more power output when you up the revs... its engine sound is sooo addictive. Built quality is great , it’s a Honda ofcourse. Just do a testride on both bikes and see what you like. That’s all that matters... PS: I have the CB650R as a daily driver 😎

Dear Roland, I will test ride the CB650R. Thanks so much for your valuable and honest comment. Take care, Manuel Perez

Any two cylinder is going to be more power in low RPM meaning it won’t stall as easy and will be more forgiving if you aren’t in the correct gear. A 4 cylinder is going to feel weak in low RPM and stall easier but give you a bigger boost at high RPM but you really have to wind it up around 10,000 RPM. If you have throttle control down and strong legs then any bike is a beginners bike. Really depends on your own confidence and awareness of your ability.
@michalpristas
3 жыл бұрын
as fresh new rider myself, i was asking the same question (except i added suzuki sv650 into the mix as well) for me these two bikes are totally different, having low rpm torque is a bit scary for me, especially riding around town. cb (which i went with) on the other hand behaves like a puppy up to 6-8 RPM. gives me confidence in the city. if i need that extra power I need to go for it, it's not there unexpectedly, i open a throttle and i know it will kick in and when it will kick in.
Make a comparison with the cb1000r please
This or the f900r ?
Your height?
Honda here is stupidly expensive than other European brands, I really like the CB650R when they first came out, but the price is more than a Triumph STREET SCRAMBLER, which one will u choose?

This model is maybe a little bit overpriced but the design is worth it. I dont know witch triumph model you are looking at but they are more expensive. I was deciding between Yamaha MT 09 and this model and i'm choosing this one. I believe is better overall. The inline 4 is smoother and more reliable and the design it's just outstanding. Cheers

@@Green.Current I did the same thing. The honda is exceptionally designed. Nothing about it feels cheap and I was more than happy paying a premium for it over the mt07/XSR Prepare to get compliments! I've never had a more diverse demographic of random strangers come up and tell me how beautiful the bike is like I do when I'm out on the CB650r 🙌 It's a crowd-pleaser!
