Lost me at liquid cooled. My 1968 CB160 was an amazing motorcycle. I put thousands of trouble free touring miles on it when I was a teenager in the 70s. That engine was bullet proof. Same with the 1967 CB77 305cc Super Hawk I had. Wish my dad hadn't sold them while I was in the army.

Appreciate your nostalgia. My first motorcycle was a 1955 Zundapp 600. However, liquid cooling has made motorcycle engines more powerful, more efficient, quieter, and ultimately more reliable. Air cooling still has its place, but it at the cost of performance, as in the current and popular RE 650 engine that poops out only 47 hp.

I'm with ya on the air-cooled preference. Why have a water pump, radiator and thermostat if you don't need it? A separate cooling system is a pain. Air cooled motorcycles hold their value better and are easier to maintain. They also look more manly, if I may say such a thing these days.

I helped a new Honda dealer get started in the early to mid '60s. We sold many CB and CA 160 twins. IIRC, the CB had somewhere around 13 horsepower and was good for cruising 55mph or so. I owned several myself, good commuter bikes with good handling. With all the accessories on this new bike, it really needs to be a 250 or so with about 25 horsepower.

Fantastic replacement for the soon to be discontinued Goldwing six cylinder.. This reminds me of the Honda Pacific coast. I had two of those. My first one got totaled when I was struck from behind at a stop sign. I went right out and bought another one, which I commuted on for 24 trouble free years.. I am very interested in this machine. I had a GL 1800 Goldwing, I even put out a video on KZread explaining, that that Goldwing was ridiculously overpowered .. I actually sold my GL 1800 Goldwing and went backwards to my third Yamaha royal star venture, simply because the Venture is so easy to service. On my venture I could change the clutch, the water pump, the stator, and the starter in less time than it takes to change just the air filter on a GL 1800 Goldwing, which the Honda dealer charges six hours labor at $135 an hour.. I am very interested in the design of this machine. But it needs to have at least a 400 cc engine to be able to haul driver, passenger, and luggage coast to coast.. it does not need more than 50 hp. My Honda Pacific Coast had 48 hp, and that was adequate at all times. 124 hp on my GL 1800 was ridiculous.. I remember the CX 500 interstate which was a 500 cc mini Goldwing. That later grew into 650 cc.. what a fantastic bike that was. I had a CX 500, of all the motorcycles I’ve had over the decades, that CX 500 engine was my favorite. Mild mannered at Lowe’s speeds, and it had enough guts to get going when you hit 6000 RPM to keep ahead of traffic on the interstate if needed.. although I used to road race motorcycles winning six championships, to time national champion, I never go over 75 miles an hour on the street ever not even the interstates. I never needed more than 50 hp on the street, although I have had some high horsepower motorcycles like an FJ 1200, a motor Guzzi V 11 sport, several Japanese 600 cc sport bikes, 750 Honda i had 2 of.. Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 cc sport tour. I think they have in the 80s or 90s horsepower. I liked that machine because of how relaxed the engine is, it feels like it’s never stressed..I’ve had many two-stroke machines, RZ 350, Kawasaki triples, many RDs,, i’ve had machines that I felt had too much power like a suzuki V Strom 1000. It had a hair trigger throttle response. I didn’t like that.. I prefer a machine with a heavy flywheel.. my BMW K 1200 LT was a pretty balanced package but you have to marry the dealer when you own a machine like that. And that machine was the most quirky motorcycle I ever owned. I’m not a BMW fan anymore.. right now I have a 2008 Yamaha royal star venture, and a 2019 Kawasaki Z 400 .. I have civilized Z 400 with a tall windshield, better seats, luggage rack and trunk, better horns, bar risers, upgraded the rear shock, and I could actually do with just that motorcycle for all of my needs now that I have made it comfortable for me. Upper 60s and low 70s mile per gallon is nice.. smaller engines put on a hell of a lot more power than they used to reliably also. With water cooling, four valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, crank position ignition sensor, even turbo or super charging to make a smaller displacement engine more powerful. I have written the original Honda CX 500 turbo owned by my best riding buddy at the time, I’ve put lots of miles on that bike. That was a very pleasant bike to ride. It had turbo lag, but you got used to that. I think it made 72 hp. It was not a fire breathing arm jerking power delivery. It was a smooth transition once the Turbo spooled up to 100,000 RPM.. I was sorry to see Honda drop the turbos from the lineup after 1983.. I would love to see this scooter or whatever it is in this video with a slightly larger engine… i’m sure it will be tuned to give lots of torque and make most of its power in the low to mid range RPMs.. my Kawasaki Z 400 original owner proximately 45 hp, and only weighs 360 pounds. But on the interstate, it feels busy. 70 miles an hour is equal to approximately 7000 RPM. Redline is 12,000 RPM so the engine is not being stressed at that speed. The engine is very smooth at that speed. That’s why I feel a 400 cc engine minimum is what should be The displacement of this motorcycle in this video. Like I said earlier, my 400 cc Kawasaki Z 400 original owner has all the power I will ever need.. I am very interested in this motorcycle, but not with the small small engine. You have to be able to pass on those steep mountain roads when you’re behind a tri-axle loaded with coal.. many of the turnpikes such as here in Pennsylvania, have a sign as you enter the turnpike that the minimum displacement for a motorcycle is 250 cc..

Now, understand, I was fresh out of bike school, and in the U.S., unlike the U.K., I'm not limited by the law on what I can ride. I'm also 6', and about 244 pounds/112 kilos right now, I was maybe about 250 pounds/113 kilos when I was out of school. The Honda 250 I was riding in school was way too small. The bike I would LIKE to get is either a BMW K1200GT/1300GT (2008 and newer) or a 2006 and newer R1200RT. But, money is tight right now. In fact, a local dealer has a very nice 2009 K1300GT with about 45,000 miles on it, which for a BMW is just getting broke in. However, as of early March 2023, it does not appear to be available in the U.S. It also has one thing, in my opinion, missing from it, and that's shaft drive. Both the FJR1300 and the Beemers that I mentioned have shaft drive. I'd even be willing to take the belt drive that BMW offered/offers on some of their F series models. The NT does look nice.

If a person used something like this as a commuter or, even light to medium distance running in county and mild country riding, you'd probably have a ball. And, you'd be getting pretty much over 100 mpg doing it. Eat that E-bikes! I had the Honda Silver Wing 500cc scooter which was probably twice as heavy as this bike, and it too suffered badly on open roads, and that was a maxi touring scooter with the power to tour long distances! I'm looking for something with a lower seat. I also don't understand why the factory doesn't make two versions of each type of motorcycle. A lower seat version, with less storage space, and the normal high version. When you buy a bike, you also have to choose your size.

I purchased a new 2008 Goldwing (Airbag model) in 2009 and had it 10 years. There were definitely pros and cons to the bike but power was NEVER an issue. It always had plenty, regardless of gear, and I never had any concerns at highway speeds. I currently have 2 motorcycles 2018 Vmax and 2019 Fat Boy 114 and I have never pushed the VMax past about 140 or so. The Fat Boy? lol In any case, more power is always nice but not a requirement on any Goldwing from about 2006 on up. Harley? Dont get me started....

This must be for European or the market in the east. If this came to the states it would have to be a 300cc or even a 350cc version would be great. It would mean it could go on highway and cheap on fuel. Also the cost would be low enough that a person would not have to spend so much money like buying a 750cc bike . There are 3 critical flaws. The ultra low quality suspension that is sprung for rider not to exceed 50kg, and it offers no compression or rebound making it very unsafe in stock forum, so a suspension upgrade is a must have on day one. The handle bars are very low, knees of a adverage size adult will prevent you to steer, so very tall bar risers are needed along with longer wire harness, cables and brake hoses. Because of the microchip shortage dealerships have very limited supply. I tried to buy one last week at 3 different Honda dealerships. They will not sell to foreigners so to reserve for local Thai people.

I've been riding 650 Suzuki Burgmans for the past 16 years. They aren't being made anymore. Before that, I had two 78' Goldwings, that I put on over 300,000 miles. So, I have a few questions. How far can I get on one tank of gas? Can they reach Interstate speeds? Are the grips and seats heated? For those you have never ridden big scoots, there is no heat coming from the engine, so when it gets to 55F and below, it gets cold. Is there interest in selling to the U.S.? Is that a prototype? Edit: It would be great if it was at least 500cc.

This looks great! I own a 2019 PCX 150. Adding all the new equipment, compartments, etc seems it would add enough weight to the scooter that the engine would be anemic. Add a passenger, and power and top speed would be considerably reduced. To remain a "scooter" this should be on at least a 200cc motor, maybe even a 225cc. That would be perfect as long as the cost was affordable.

With such a small engine and the bulk of this thing you really can't take it anywhere that has a speed limit above 55 probably. And that's probably pushing it's limits. It's a nice set up and the potential is great. But with so little power it's pretty much only practical as a daily commuter around town. It's size is not something you would probably want to take on the freeway. But a slightly larger engine would open up your travel options. The whole thing is designed for touring except the engine. It screams load it up and go somewhere fun instead of just use it for groceries.
