My compliments for producing a well thought out and well edited video. You obviously practiced prior to recording or are very experienced in that regard. So many KZread help videos have running commentary that is completely unrelated or are the ramblings of an inexperienced individual with little self-awareness. Thank you for providing this. It was exactly what I needed to repair my son's Honda.
very thorough. What a lot of people slack on is showing specifics. VERY GOOD.
i successfully changed the air intake hose on my 2003 honda accord today thanks to this video - thank you so much!!!!

@@pc6907 it took me about 2 hours, but this was the first time i’ve ever replaced anything that’s not a lightbulb on a car. the only issue i had was prying off the old pieces from the old hose. they were really stuck in there.

My cousin was replacing the air filter on my mothers car, and her vehicle started to stall. I am going to need to replace the intake hose on her vehicle because she has the same break. As very temporary fix until I get the parts I need, I re-taped electrical tape around the hose (somehow whenever the hose was initially broken it was already taped so I re-taped it). Very straight forward to the point video, so kudo's to you kind sir. Thanks for your time, and information.

Your video is very thorough. I appreciate that you didn’t assume or skip steps that a rookie like me might need to see. One thing though, you didn’t replace the spring clamp on the air box side. Was it difficult to get back on? Oh well, I need to replace that hose so I’ll know the answer soon enough. Wish me luck. 🤞🏽

@@WingJai1119 Yes, I struggled a bit but was indeed able to get it back on.
As for the spring, what you do is... drive by a Honda dealership and throw it at the building. Then you go to a Harbor Freight or hardware store and buy a 3 1/2 in diameter hose clamp (HF has a 20 piece assorted box for cheap) and it fits in that groove perfectly, as if it were made for it! You're welcome lol
Thanks got my hose replaced in 30 min and air filter. I noticed you disconnected the first connector and my intake hose doesn’t have one. Is that the air temp sensor?
what is the tool to put back the spring around the hose?
@donniev8181
10 ай бұрын
Exactly, I just did mine and i think its best to put the spring clamp on the air tube before sliding it over the air filter housing. I actually replaced the clamp on the throttle body with a standard clamp. The tube pretty much holds itself on the air filter box but im looking for a upgraded version.
For the spring clamp to the airbox, I tried stretching the springs a little before trying to put it on and it was a little easier to brute force it

I was able to get that spring back on .. I just brute forced it connecting the two ends around the groove on the end of the tube using both hands .. gotta have a bit of grip strength to do it but it can be done

@@AK-us5rw only thing I can think of is to connect the two ends and then try to reverse roll it back on carefully by stretching .. of course while the tube is out of the car .. or get someone with some grip strength to do it .. it can be done, I did it

Cool man. Jst give our man a like. I love his work. He teches mi much more than he knows
After changing air intake pipe, i am having rev issues sometimes, I have no maf sensor on airfilter box just like you i have MAP sensor.
So it didn’t need the spring connector around the bigger part of the hose? 7:14
The part I bought on Amazon is rubber, malleable like yours, not stiff/plastic like the OEM, only $18. Is it worth keeping? The hole for the air intake sensor is closed, needs to be punched opened. Was going to drop it off at Kohls to return . . .

"I have a 2006 Accord LX 2.0 (K20) (Made in Mexico), and I bought this hose to replace it. However, the hose code on my car is RAC, and the hose I purchased has the code RAA and is shorter than the other one (6cm). I've searched everywhere and can't find it. I see that what you installed is RAA. On all the websites I've checked, they say it's the same hose, but upon comparison, I can see that they are different."

Did you intentionally leave the clamp spring off?
What's that part at 6:05? The part you reconnect after the vacuum line Just discovered the mechanics forgot to attach it in the last service.
Is vacuum leak can cause more gasoil consumption?
I love what you do.

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback.
Your video is replacing an already aftermarket air tube. The factory one is installed with normal hose clamps on each end. The Dorman tube is sold with the stretch clamp that is an absolute nightmare. Also, the factory vacuum line is very difficult to remove, unlike the aftermarket one you replaced.
Good stuff bud

@@arthurbrown4244 Any vacuum leak will make you engine run badly. If this is a serious question, as long as it is sealed properly it will run fine. Buddy replaced it with the new intake hose as soon as it arrived. You do want to make sure that junk didn't clog the screen for the MAF. Personally I would clean the MAF sensor, screen and air filter (possibly replace that too) while I'm in there.

Personally I would not disconnect the battery if you have a check engine light on. Reason being, if you do it will clear the code and turn your check engine light off and if you had another leak somewhere else it would give you a false sense of security that you fixed the issue. But, when it comes to electronics the safest bet is always to disconnect the battery, I just personally wouldn't worry about it on this because you aren't dealing with any parts that have voltage unless the engine is running.
To everyone doing this. you might as well clean the throttle body with the intake off. Its alrdy exposed and takes 2-3 minutes.
