I just purchased this exact car, oh my do I love this smooth as silk manual. The reason I purchased this car was the intentional lack of electronics. When a car has less electronics onboard, you are less likely to have a "glitch". I also love that it has a naturally aspirated motor, this motor has been around awhile and is easily parted out if I need to get a part down the road. Steve, I generally watch videos of cars that I am interested in, however I watch everyone of your videos because of your ability to describe what the car you are reviewing makes you feel. Great job and look forward to all of your future reviews.

Drive an Acura... Its always about 3-5 years ahead of an Accord. Honda named its high end cars Acura in the US to align its market segment with Infiniti and Lexus in the late 80s.

If you compare Lexus to Toyota and Infiniti to Nissan, you will likely see significant improvements, but when it comes to Acura (vs Honda) I see nothing but Korean-like car with couple luxury features.Lexus is aggressive and powerful,Infiniti is aggressive and powerful,Acura is small, not aggressive, neither powerful, just expensive piece of intriguing name.

Test drove one of these yesterday. CVT model. And I absolutely fell in LOVE with it. Honda took the CVT trans and made it feel sporty. Go figure lol. Was looking into a manual but the smoothness of the CVT while still feeling sporty won me over! Plus it'll be good with the girlfriend and kid! I've test driven a few cars and the Accord without question was the best! Looks nice. Feels amazing to drive. Very grounded and sporty for a family car. Not a ton of bells and whistles which can be good. It's a drivers car. And I love that!! Can't wait to get one!!

I have this exact car (2016) and boy is this thing a joy to drive for something that's relatively large in size. I love the freaking interior of the sport model. Super simple and easy to use. The large 8" screen serves as a sharp backup camera with three different views. Cmon Honda why didn't you just add keyless entry and push start for US buyers????

I've driven mine from Austin, TX to Vegas and back on stock tires. Currently have 17000 miles on the clock, have not rotated the tires and they are just as good as new. I will rotate at 20k. I think the 19" tires will hold up just as much as any other stock tires do, if not better

I had a 2014 accord and was in a relatively bad accident. Long story short, i spun out and went flying into a ditch. I lost both side mirrors, both the front a rear bumpers, and the rear windshield. The tow truck came and pulled me out the ditch and then he said “ well, i have some good news, your car is still good to drive”. So i continued to drive that car without repairing anything for another 8 months until i was deployed and had to sell it. The reliability of honda accords is amazing. I bought a 2017 accord sport after i came home, and i cant imagine myself driving anything else.

main reason I got this vehicle is the simplicity. no touch screen, not overloaded with bs sensors or electronics. it gives an awesome driving experience with the manual. without all those bs sensors and the manual the driver does almost everything traditionally. manual is not made for the masses and people that cant figure it out where the blinkers are. I have the 4 cylinder and its enough power for the streets we live in where the speed limit doesn't allow to push your 3-400hp waste of resources vehicle. I am watching this video in Dec 2020 and I have the car since mid 2018. did a lot of upgrades if u wanna call them like that. got the 2017 USA version couse I didn't liked the more conservative Canadian accord sport. asian accord is mostly towards the exl trim in the USA. great simple video. cheers

modmatt1 I drive a 2015 Mazda 6 with a 6-speed manual myself. I know that if I want manual sedans to keep being sold then I have to do my part and buy one. Unfortunately though, Honda and Mazda are literally the only two companies left in the US who will sell you a midsize sedan with a stick anymore. Let's hope that attracts just enough of a niche market to keep that option around.

Here in the US, both Ford and VW discontinued manuals for their "mid sized" vehicles - the Fusion and Passat back a few years ago now. Would need to find used and they are tough to find, so choices are extremely limited. Either the Honda Accord, Mazda 6 and if they add 6 speed manual (upgrade from 5 speed) to the Crosstrek - one of these are in my future as of now.

If you don't care about the title then you can get a "Rebuilt" title one for 1/2 price. I pick one (2017 Sport CVT) this weekend 10K and its only had 19K on it. It was rear end and only the trunk, 2 tail light, bumper cover was replaced since it was hit high. It runs, drives and handle awesome. The car looks the same as this black one on review here.

Just test drove a slightly used 2017 Accord LX with the CVT and I thought it drove very well. Trying to decide between the CVT and the 6-speed. I've mostly been a manual driver but the CVTs really work smoothly. After your review, I'm leaning toward the Sport over the LX. Thank You!!

#savethemanuals, Honda has a homerun w/this car and it's been on my "next car list", right next to a Golf SportWagen S 5M, and a Mazda6 Touring 6M. I like the Honda formula, but I am not thrilled that I ONLY get to choose 4 colors w/the manual transmission. CVT buyers get 8. WTF Honda? I know this is how they "do business" in the Accord line, but I think it is stupid. I want a blue exterior, black (dark interior) and a manual. I can't have that in the Accord Sport w/the manual. The Civic Hatch Sport gets all 7 colors w/either transmission. Other than the limited colors, the car is a win in my book. My next battle is bringing over (back) the Mazda6 Wagon. Can you help me out w/that Steve? Thanks for the review.

You're not a fan of the "save the manuals". Interesting comment. I'm all for progress. Matter of fact, I wish Honda offered the Accord with the 8-speed double clutch from the Acura line-up. However, your range of 450 miles in an inline-4 is interesting. I just purchased an Accord Coupe, V6 6-speed manual. I'm getting a range of 450 miles, as well, due to the manual in an engine that is approximately 50% bigger. Thus, not only does the manual afford me performance, if the driver is disciplined, it can afford a "real" high MPG return. Thus, we need to "save the manuals". Great review.

I've been shopping around for one of these, and the 6 speed manual's a tough to find in my area. Cant decide if I want to get this one or just save up more and get the 2018 with the 2.0 t engine

So the next gen Accord will be built off the Civic architecture??? I think Honda is taking a big risk doing this, or they're very secure about that Civic platform to do this.

Civic always was the base for the CRV. But now to stretch it out to make the accord is strange. Like toyota doing the same with the Corolla /Camry.

Stephen Nichols uh, no. That engine is going only into the Civic Type R and there are already a lot of complaints regarding huge amounts of turbo lag. No thanks. I would rather own a Golf R for about the same price ;-)

Dan K the new civic type r isn't out yet. and i did say tuned differently. the new engine is speculated to produce about 320hp on the civic type r. i would very highly doubt the new accord would have the same power, exact same engine. besides is just a guess of mine. we won't know until gonna tells us for sure
