Homura can’t really summon magic weapons. Her magic weapon is the shield on her arm. Since it doesn’t have offensive properties, she steals weapons from the military and the yakuza and enchants them so they can be used in battle.

I love that there’s a moment where Mami realizes what Homura’s done with her suicide ploy: Mami’s eyes narrow slightly and then widen in further shock when she realizes that Homura severed their connection at around 3:29! Such a cool blink-and-you-miss-it detail!

Thinking about it some more, it's no joke that Homura can outlast Mami. Aside from the obvious hint at how Homura has the endurance of a beast from being so patient between hundreds of timelines, she's also more economical with her magic. Mami actually summons her guns by turning her ribbons into them, a technique she mastered to a fault but it does cost her some mana/magic to make a single gun. Homura on the otherhand merely has a space-time bubble in her shield that keeps an entire military armory's worth of guns and ammo. She doesn't expend any magic to pull one gun out, not from what anyone has shown thus far. If this went on to be a battle of attrition, first one to lose resources loses, Homura would've won hands down.

I doubt Mami's dumb enough to waste her Soul Gem's power to the point it "becomes empty". If I'm not mistaken, she knows that when it gets too dirty a magical girl loses her power (and possibly dies), she just doesn't knows that they become witches. And yes, Homura's economical with her power, but it's also stated to be extremely weak if her opponent knows the trick behind it (the fact that she can freeze time). Since Mami can attach ribbons on her to keep it from working, Homura's just a physically enhanced human with guns.

This isn't true. Homura is definitely more resourceful and mentally endured. That's true... but in terms of actual combat skill, sense and attrition...Mami actually has the upper hand to a degree Homura simply can't even begin to compete with. Mami knows the trick behind Homura's magic, and can constantly keep a ribbon attached to her... and to ensure this... this she can conjure up as many guns as needed to cover up a thin ribbon attaching itself to Homura. Homura has to keep her senses on trailing her Bullets, mama's Bullets, thin ribbons, full ribbons, traps, and other objects disguised as ribbons. Field sense wise- she's ALWAYS playing a game of trying to keep up with what Mami is doing, could be doing, is wanting to do, and is waiting to do. Whereas Mami only had to react to what Homura is doing, and will likely want to do. They actually show it in this fight in single frames... Mami was trying to gauge if Homura was truly going to kill her, and every time Homura impulsively went for a lethal shot, Mami quickly outpaced her and countered. Even the details of her noticing Homuras "self kill" plan and quickly adjusting her expression to appeal to Homura... that was all to see what Homura would do. That's the first thing she also mentions. How Homura didn't try to kill her, but only wounded her. She was able to kill Homura at any point, she just didn't. It speaks to just how much more power Mami has.

This scene is a prime example of how quickly things can escalate. The fight begins with Homura aiming for Bebe and Mami aiming for Homura's bullet, but as the fight progresses, they turn against each other and start shooting at one another. You can see their surprised faces as they draw weapons on each other, even turning their heads away to avoid looking. Here, we see Homura stop time, uncertain about what to do. Homura says, 'I can outlast you", likely referring to how Homura remains alive in each timeline while Mami is doomed to lose her head. What's truly intriguing is that Homura doesn't stop fighting until the bullets nearly hit her soul gem. This is when she realizes that Mami doesn't know that shooting the soul gem would result in Homura's death, prompting Homura to come up with her next plan. The fact that Homura can't defeat Mami makes sense because Homura avoids fighting her in most timelines due to Mami's ribbons countering her powers, and because Mami dies too early. Despite Homura's experience in fighting, Mami remains a formidable opponent, both because of her wish and because Homura doesn't know how the experienced Mami would fight against her.

This is such an amazing fight. Really makes both characters look great. Mami is by far the strongest Puella Magi in a one on one fight. The fact Homura stands up against her and fights her so evenly as long as she does really showcases her own great strength, gained from endless repetition. Of course, if not for the ribbon, Homura would have won due to her power being broken, but managing to pull off all her ribbon tricks is part of Mami's strength as THE veteran.

The vocal talents of both actresses are AMAZING. More often than not, English dubs are frowned upon, but these two are superb at their craft. For Carrie Keranen (Mami's VA), she can be soft-spoken and lady-like for Mami, upbeat and juvenile for Alya, and strong for Satsuki. As for Cristina Vee (Homura's VA), the fact that she can perform as Marinette with such girly high pitches and also be serious as Homura is amazing. Talent!

Mami won this. Even if she aimed for the head, u can see how her whole body turns into rubbons including her head and gem. And if im correct, that was a clone that homura was fighting against so imagine against real mami ;-;.

@@maihung5512 It depends. Because at the start, she's the real Mami, then swapped into her clone at 2:42 (if you observe closely, you'll notice the flower-shaped smoke and sound effect). In the another mami vs homura video, other people also noticed that, btw :)

I know Mami probably exerts more magic to create weapons other than her usual muskets (I know Tiro Finale takes a bit of magic) but she pulled out the double barrels at 1:53
