In which the old one with people of Israel was fulfiled. Jesus is our Lord and messiah. Since the day of his death the chosen ones are those who follow Jesus Christ in his church. As for the paintings it is said that you cannot worship other gods or make things to worship, because you have to place God above - it is mainly about paganism, magic and occult that was in that times and for all times. God allowes us to worship his image as crucified Jesus or Jesus on the paintings for example Divine Mercy image - which was approwed by church and have incredible history with saint Faustyna. I think that catholic, or christians in general, treat God different than Islam or Jews, becouse in Islam God is a bit distant and above all mighty, in Judaism God is strict, they have lots of strict laws to stay pure from sin, and sin is considered only like something outside of heart, of soul, sin is braking a law. In Catholicism God is a person, He is all love and all justice, he is the best and most merciful father and sin is an impurity of our soul, thought or act, but was born in heart. As the Sunday it is the day in which Jesus rised from death, and we celebrate it along with celebrating the first day of creation and sending the holy spirit . As Jesus fulfiled old testament - the all profecies of an old testament, he created new covenant, and it is celebrated by all christians.

@@martapfahl940 Who I call father wrongly? In Poland as a sign of respect you call a priest a father because he is "in persona christi" and this is how you show respect. It is like calling someone "rabbi", because person with this title is somone who have wisdom and knowlage. We have one father in heaven but why shouldn't i call someone i respect a father as a most respectful symbol? How do you call your earthly father if you can call that only God?

Strange how the church has always advocated moralism (judgement) using the written word instead of grace, advocated by Jesus the LIVING WORD to which it is a witness off. Jesus died for ALL sin and ALL of fallen corrup mankind will be reconciled to God the Father. Please check out Apokatastasis which the early church fathers spoke off, before church institutionalism started to interpret the scriptures as a reflection of their own hearts. Hell and eternal torment imposed on those of no faith by an infinite merciful loving Father? An abomination that probably has prevented so many being drawn to God. We are seeing this even more so today. Dear brother enlighten your heart, listen to what ex Protestant pastor now Orthodox Brad Jerzak has to say on " A More CHRISTLIKE God and Word." The Bible has been in continual revision for two thousand years. Jesus tried to revise Judaism after 1500. Now 2,000 year after Jesus, we are due for another major overhaul of the antediluvian thoughts and practices. Perhaps these long over due changes are being delivered by God, to her awakened church leaders! 🙏🏻
