    One of the best, if not the best series ever to air on tv,!!

    He tested Lewis’ empathy, intelligence and view of life without Pembleton telling him. That was brilliant.

    Nice upload. In reality these two would never get along. Pembleton is the man.

    That's what I saw was the MO of the show to show the reality of the Homicide unit and police life in general like Barney Miller only as a drama. Real police officers will take a bullet for each other or avenge the death of one of their brothers in blue but that doesn't make them best friends who like each other all the time.

    "Meldrick, I would never want the responsibility" is Pembleton-speak for, "You waste time and oxygen by existing."

    This reminds me of the dynamic of Harris and Wojo on Barney Miller lol two such different personalities that like each other overall but so different in almost every single way that they'd kill each other if stuck together alone too long. That's Meldrick and Frank, also Munch and Bolander too.

    Why is it this series is not on any streaming service? I have all of them and yet I can't watch this I love homicide. As a kid I used to stay up late and watch it all the time. Kind of sounds creepy

    It's because the stupid studio executives that own the rights to the music used in the show refuse to make a deal.

    The production rights for Homicide: Life on the Street was split between 7 different companies when it was made. Some of those companies are still around, some went out of business, and some were bought out. So, the show is trapped in limbo and a streaming deal can't be made until that tangle of who owns what percentage of the show and how much each gets paid is ironed out.

    This is why I like physical media. If I want it, I can own it and then watch when I want. Streaming is too unreliable with what is or isn't available

    I still don't understand this scene - what is Frank's point here? Why won't he partner with Meldrick anymore?

  • @katherynemero9355

    @katherynemero9355

    Meldrick always has problems. He screws things up because he isn't paying attention to what he's doing. He doesn't close cases because he is busy being a big kid. Frank is very together. He takes his job seriously because he knows it's so important. Lewis isn't on that level. Frank is an adult, Lewis is a kid. Frank would kill Lewis eventually. Or have another stroke. As it is, Frank has enough trouble with Bayliss.

    Don't think it takes a genius to point out that these two brothas are night and day. They can be friends but not be stuck together alone all the time. They'd kill each other on the job so it's better they don't partner up lol.
