This was actually based on the Yoshihiro Hattori murder. In that case, he rang the doorbell and was shot walking back to the car when there was no answer. The shooter was also acquitted.

Another reason I miss the 90's. A great show like Homicide (and filming in my hometown of Baltimore).

You don’t mind if people have a negative association with Baltimore after the wire and homicide?

This show was SO far ahead of its time, but I always thought that Braugher was somehow too intense for network TV.

i love this show but this episode was rediculous--a crazy kid dressed up like kiss trying to get into your house--i'd have killed him, too. and that bit about applauding his death--they were applauding because a good man wasn't going to jail for defending his family.

Defending his family from what? The kid was on the porch. He left his home to shoot a child.
