What's the point of different bins, presumably to separate different waste types, if they all get chucked in the same dumpster?

The brown and blue cans are for trash the green can is for recycling some town don’t have the same garbage carts as this neighborhood towns that homewood collects have green for trash and brown for recycling and blue for yard waste they all mixed for every town it really kinda confusing that green bin that he pick up is trash
