    Doesn’t look like a very good winter for ice fishing but I’m liking these mild temps so far. Get that firewood top covered, lots of rain coming. Glad I have a wood shed. You guys have a Merry Christmas.

    Well, hopefully it will keep making ice. We're having such a mild winter, such a change from last winter. So far 6 or 7" of ice is at least good enough to get out of the house and catch some fish. The mild temps have helped with taking care of the chickens! That wood shed is still such a great idea, glad you have one! Hopefully we'll be building one soon. Merry Christmas!

    Watching from lil ole Engerland where we can be truly proud of our national dish, I’m confused as what it looks like to me is that you breaded the fish as battering would mean flower beer salt and mix lumps are optional as they can produce lovely crispy bits, However the triple dip or dry wet dry as live heard it called on DDD (diners drive ins and dives) is used for breading something, My simple question is which was it you did, just interested is all Many thanks

    Thanks for watching, nice to hear from England! We make fish all the time and make it many different ways. This time I did do the dry wet dry method as seen on diners drive-ins and dives! I didn't use beer this time around but I do love it that way too. I usually use cornflakes, saltines, Ritz or bread crumbs for the breading part instead of the shore lunch. I hope I answered your question. If not let me know and I can clarify. Thanks so much for watching. Hope you have a wonderful holidays⛄

    I'll look into that Canola oil. I am afraid all the good oils are so expensive but I do know they are so much better for you. We good with Olive Oil for everything else but just couldn't imagine the cost of using that for fish. Thanks for commenting.

    Our northern Wisconsin lakes are fine to eat the fish

  • @KrumriesCabin

    @KrumriesCabin

    The fish are safe to eat out of our lakes, we do have safe eating guidelines for some species like Walleye and Northern Pike and other top of the food chain fish, because of the Mercury deposition from the atmosphere. As long as we follow the guidelines, we'll be fine. For men they can eat quite a lot in a month but for kids it's once per week. So, we're all good! I am a big proponent of still encouraging all to get out and fish and to eat the fish. Thanks for your comment, happy holidays.

    @@KrumriesCabin my pleasure. It’s really scary how destructive vegetable oils are to the human body.

  • @alan2112drums
    @alan2112drums7 ай бұрын

    If you only knew how bad cooking oil is for human health; especially canola oil. Veggie oils are highly processed poly unsaturated fats. The processing (which is absolutely gross and highly toxic) oxidizes the fats and makes them unfit for human consumption. Mono unsaturated fats (like olive oil) are very bad as well but not as bad as poly unsaturated oils. Cooking oils are known as "vegetable" oils but are actually seed oils derived from the seed of a vegetable (or bean, like soy bean oil). The healthiest way to cook is with saturated fats from animals like lard, tallow or suet. That's the way humans did it for all of recorded time until 100 years ago when they invented Hydrogenation and could turn machine lubricants (seed oils) into "food". These oils (along with an excess of sugar consumption) has made our society fat and sick. If you want to know more about it, you can find tons of info in the low carb or carnivore communities on YT. There is a lot of info on cooking oils and I pray that you do your homework so at least you know what they really are and what harm they cause.

    Thanks for the info on the cooking oils. I knew some information on it but definitely not this much. I looked into lard at the grocery store and it isn't that much money actually so from now on that's what we will use to fry fish! Thank you so much!

    @@KrumriesCabin Using animal fat is a great start but the story is far bigger than most know. For optimal health, sugar (and seed oils) must be eliminated. Humans do NOT need to consume even 1 gram of sugar (we make what we need-gluconeogenesis). Sugar (and oxidized seed oils) cause inflammation which causes illness and disease. The only food a human should eat must come from an animal, not a plant. It's a shame this info is hidden from us but it makes sense if "the system" want sick people that are dependent on big pharma. Look into the carnivore lifestyle; you'll be shocked at the lies regarding nutrition. I've changed my life by adopting an all meat (animal based) diet. I'm turning 60 and want to live as long as possible without the "normal" aches & pains of aging. My horrible gut, arthritis, joint pain and mental health have almost completely resolved and it's quite unbelievable. The time and resources I see people investing in crops/gardens for food is completely unnecessary. Grow a dairy cow, a few meat cows and or sheep, chicken (for their eggs) and consume that every day. Any fatty meat. Look on YT and you'll see what I'm talking about. Love your videos and building; keep up the great work because I get a lot of satisfaction watching craftsman like you!!
