Homemade under the door tool. Testing, and how it was made.

This was a fun project, and I already had everything that was needed. It was essentially free. All that is need are 2 metal coat hangers and some Paracord (or stong string) as well a couple tools like a hammer, & pliers will get the job done.

Fantastic! I respect people who make their own tools - thank you for showing how it's easily done.

I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your comment, thank you so much. Making our own tools might not looks as good as store bought, but I always thought if we can get away with making are own tools, and it works the same way as someone who purchased theirs, then it's got to be a win. Hope you have a great weekend my friend 🤜🤛

@@RookKnight Not only that, but you can modify tools for custom solutions where store bought ones fail. So good on you and keep up the good work!

Nice man, I always love homemade tools. If my contraption can work just as well as something that someone had to paid for. I will always feel accomplishment. 👍🏻
I bought one of these 20+ years ago. I like that rubber tubing modification. Good job.👍🦊

Thanks Jack. I really think the rubber would be a benefit to these types of tools. This tubing I used was from an old fish tank hose. The ones for use with air pump lol. Hope you have a great weekend my friend 🤜🤛
Thanks for another diy! I am making some of the tools to use at my work. I just took over the locks and we are on a budget. I can make most of the items you make for free with the supplies we do have! 👍

Thanks Chris, I always wanted to try one of these out, but shelling out 40 bucks for a off chance to use it, didn't seem logical. I'm hoping one of these days to try it with a more secure door. Hope you have a great weekend brother. Tell Slinky I said hello 🐈⬛🔓🤜🤛👍🏻

Nice bypass. I thought you had a bend in it when it rose up, but once you showed that it’s just a single wire I understood the design. Well done!

Thanks brother, I tried taking a photo of the whole thing, but everytime it just kept blending into the background of the picture, so it was kinda a waste to show it. I was surprised how springy it was for just being a coat hanger. It keep bouncing right back. Thanks for checking it out with me my friend, have a good one🤜🤛
You’re a bottomless well of good ideas, that tube addition is a great idea. Seems glaringly obvious that it needed that after you showed it.

Thank you 🙏 so much for your very kind words brother. For the rubber tube, Im really surprised to not see this, or something similar on the tools from the big brand names. I love how you put it, I was thinking the same thing. Hope you have yourself a great weekend 🤜🤛
Great home made version Rook, great grip on the end ! Thanks for sharing

Thanks Mur-lock my friend. Hope you are enjoying your weekend brother 🤜🤛
Nice. I like how you added the plastic tube. Seems like it lets you know when you're on the knob so you can slightly adjust to get better purchase on the knob. I made a knock down one with gun cleaning rods that screw together.

Thank you for proving what I've been thinking-I started to make a breakdown version but couldn't get a retractable cord long enough. Duh-why not use the paracord that's always in my pocket! The rubber cover definitely gives the extra Rook Knight touch for sure.

Thanks brother, I really like that idea on a retractable cord what if you used something like this? Key-Bak Super48 HD 8oz. Locking Retractable Key Holder, 48" Retractable Cord, Black Polycarbonate Case, Steel Belt Clip, Oversized Split Ring a.co/d/ak4EvJn Its 48 inches so it should be long enough. The wire only need to be around 42 so that would give you a few more inches to work with. Have a great week ahead my friend 🤜🤛
As always you come up with the neatest ideas. Nice job!

In some places where hotel room theft is rampant, the mere possession of coathangers and string without justifiable reason in a hotel you're not staying at can get you a free trip to jail until they decide whether to charge you or not. Even where lock picks are legal, bypass tools like this may be considered burglary tools so do be careful folks!
