Jamestown sell a spray release for 5200. The stuff works. Make sure you cut a groove around the fitting. Use a putty knife to start then a screw driver to pry the fitting off

I am not looking forward to that job, as I have a transducer that has to be removed and I'm afraid I'm going to have to head down this road. But thanks for the idea ... super slick idea.

About to attempt this for the first time next week. This is a great suggestion as I don’t have clear access from above to beat it out. Think this will work with a plastic fitting or it’ll deform? You mentioned at the end having to fiberglass. Could you not just clean it up to gel coat, seal in the new fitting?

I don't know if it will deform it or not. Shouldn't if you apply pressure evenly. We fiberglassed in the hole because we weren't using it any more.

Is there another way to do this? Not sure how to pull mine. No videos seem to replicate them.

They make a tool but we couldn’t find one. Other than that not sure…, some people cut them out.

Is there a tool to remove the through by unscrewing it? If so what is it called?

A thru hull puller? There is a tool, it looks like a cone. They're hard to find.
