Really nice vid bro, the skis came out great. good choice building them in the warm weather so the epoxy can cure properly. there are people twice your age who cant build skis so be proud of what you accomplished!! be safe on the slopes and have fun

Looks cool. Neutral camber? How can this be controlled, in the mold?, steam bending the wood core? Also, I figured the metal edges would have been more difficult to install.

If you want to buy a good set of twin tips it will cost you around $450 he made this i think for around $380 But its all about the experience nobody can tell he made his own ski's :)

@@steefdewaard6947 I think what he is trying to say is that the overall cost is higher, the materials per se may be cheaper, but look at all the equipment/power tools needed to make them, that's a cost too, that and also time/experience, skis already made are as optimized as they can be, probably the first few pairs that somebody will make will be crap compared to bought skis, so overall it's just cheaper to buy. And overall yea it's about the experience, would be dope running the park in your own skis, if I had that equipment I would totally give it a shot, probably even opens a new area to the sport.

once that press is made, you can keep using the form for unlimited $50 skis. glue is the priciest thing in there. you can make new, improved forms for cheap. make skis for your family.. even if you have no intention of selling stuff, this is awesome.

Ik it's late but it looks like an old heavy duty hose, like a fire hose or something similar. He filled it with air to apply equal pressure and let the epoxie cure

you can push your turns harder without loosing the tails if they're flat. Are you by any chance 12?
