Wow thanks so much for the vid. Im looking to build a sandblaster like this as im way tired of the small handheld one which I have to constantly shake to get any sand out. Now I just need to see if we got any old gas tanks laying around I can use.

Hi Could you precise all the dimensions of the tubes you used ? It would be very kind from you!! Another question : where did you find the big piece of tube and the tap used to fill with the sand??? I've never found any on the web😱😱 I saw tones of videos about that but your sandblaster is in the top 3 for me thanks to the simplicity and all the "options" like the protection for the pressure excess or the manometer etc

I am pretty sure that the supply disconnect is in the front on the right. You notice he put a "T" fitting on the front to pressurize the tank and ran a hose from there to the bottom "T" to pick up the sand and ran the discharge hose out the back between the wheels. It looks like the discharge hose is coiled up on top in the very last of the video. I would use a male quick-disconnect so I could just use the same hoses i use for everything else in the shop. The only thing I would change is to put the shut off valve on the quick disconnect side so I don't get the spew of air when you disconnect. Also I would put a 20 micron water trap on the supply side. You can pick up one for about 20 bucks at home depot or sears., sorry lowes. Damp sand doesn't work well at all. I also use play sand and run it through a screen. I made a screen funnel and placed it in the top. It is a whole lot cheaper than grit and easy to re-use, just filter it again. Hope this helps. If I am wrong, please feel to correct me. Please be sure to use a respirator and face mask. The sand dust is just as bad for your lungs as asbestos. I just buy the paper suite at HD and when done throw it away so I don't get sand dust everywhere. When done just blow down and remove the suit. that way you don't breathe the dust when you take your mask off.
