@@markdavis7397 maiden flight is for stall cherictoristics. Feeling her put. Maiden flight is literally only focus on landing. If you can learn how the plane wants to fall you can learn how she likes to land. Once you can land it.... well what more is there to do but fly? After a few mixes and or kinks to hem out. My knees always chatter every single maiden. Could be an eflite UMX or a giant scale B25.

I agree. He’s not a natural pilot, but will soon pick up the skills he needs. I suggest he takes a few full-size aircraft lessons and gets used to setting up the plane properly for an accurate approach. As a jet pilot once showed me, you have to setup the plane well ahead of your landing. Once the plane is on the right flight path and decent profile, it is so much easier. I cocked-up a few approaches before I nailed it and I’ve flown all manner of aircraft, from Cessna’s to weight-shift aircraft, including gilders and hang-gliders. Each aircraft has its own flight characteristics. Crosswinds are a different matter.

That's what I'm driving at. If you ever get the chance to do a landing in a full size plane it all becomes clear, what makes good landing's.

Ramy, just like so many others here I am in awe of your gorgeous models and workmanship. This Citation M2 is another jewel from your workshop. When it comes to maiden (and early) flights I know that it can be quite nerve wracking to find the best approach & landing speed. But please do your best to avoid excessive speed as you set up for landings. While I know you are trying to avoid a stall situation, it's obvious that you have a great design that will flare beautifully onto the mains when using the correct speed & flap settings. 'Geasing in' landings with excessive speed creates a world of problems, especially when the wind conditions aren't as "perfect" as it was for your maiden flight. I don't know all the final specs on your model, but it seems clear from examining this video that proper speed management will produce a stable and authentic landing pattern and nose-high touchdown. Additionally, since you are likely not going to be using this model for aerobatic maneuvers, there is nothing wrong with increasing the stability by shifting some of the internal weight a little more toward the nose. If you have any room to move your flight batteries forward, that would be the obvious choice to make such an adjustment. If you intend to keep the camera under the stab, don't allow that device to keep your model in a tail-heavy state. Of course I realize that you understand all these things. I just couldn't help but to jot down a few things that I know will keep that beautiful airplane flying for many years to come! I really enjoy all your work (and your videos). But I must admit that this Citation jet is probably my favorite of all!!!

12:24 That's some serious Tokyo drifting there 😁 What an awesome plane! And seemingly also flying very well. A remark about the EDF sound: mostly they sound very turbine like, adding to the great scale appearance of this jet. One thing I noticed though, is the rapid change in power setting / RPM. Gas turbines don't do that. Now, I wouldn't recommend slowing the throttle response artificially, because a quick burst of power could get you out of a tough spot, just wanted to mention it. For the rest - if someone would watch this plane from a distance, they might very well think that this is a real airplane.

Beautiful aircraft! Looks majestic and real in the air! Quick tips: you’re way too fast on landing and you always land past yourself, no need to slam on brakes- you’ve got 1000s of feet of runway! You’re nearly twice as fast as you need to be, that thing should crawl in. Also when you put the camera under the horizontal stab you’re destroying the lift it creates, remember it’s an upside down wing! Put it on the top surface for less handling issues because unless the camera weighs a ton, a plane this size shouldn’t mind a couple oz of tail weight. Well done and looking forward to more flights!

if you change the CG with items like a camera, you should find the center before you fly, to make sure its not critical... You should also have a pitch trim adjustment on your controller to counter the CG shift to the rear (pitch down)

All RC transmitters have trim, even the cheapest ones. But if it's too tail-heavy you could be out of range. A tail-heavy aircraft is also inherently less stable. Which is why full-scale airplanes have strict CG limits, beyond which you are not allowed to fly. Bad things may happen, such as a stall or a spin becoming unrecoverable if CG is out of limits.

Wow , just another amazing plane from you and it flies perfect. What is your preference when it comes to trimming pitch? A ''normal'' setup with a slight forward CG and a positive angle of incidence will make the nose drop a lower speed and rise at higher speed. A lot of RC pilots trim for the higher speed and rarely they trim for landing so in the end they have to keep ''pulling'' the stick a little to get to the approach and landing speed. My preference is setting the trim for approach speed and ''push'' a little at high speed when flying around. Then when i want to land i throttle down and as soon as i don't have to push anymore i am at approach speed and maintain altitude or glideslope by setting/changing power and minor elevator input. When i reach touchdown i can reduce power more and have some speed/energy left for the flare before i reach stall speed. My approaches and landings became much smoother that way. On those calm summer evenings i can in this way also trim for landing speed and land without using the elevator, just playing with the powersetting... But that is just me, everybody has his/her/it's own preferences ...
