Nice video, tip if you know your running out of laundry soap and you need to make more. Take your soap out of the packaging a few weeks before you make it and let the soap dry out. This way when you shred it, it will shred more like a powder.

Thank you for your comment, if you add some Borax it dries it out fast and you can dry it out with the Borax tat same day quicker if you'd like.

Love this I make it aswell been using it for 7 years with no issues can I suggest something I add foca to that very same mix that really adds to the cleaning power plus the clothes smell even better for a lot longer and it’s literally like 2 bucks more get a small bag of foca sold at Walmart with the zote or close by or Ariel with downy small bag either or just really adds that extra cleaning and long lasting scent on your clothes plus if you choice foca it has a brighter for colored clothes so it helps the borax from fading your clothes over time trust me you’ve gotta add foca!! You’ll absolutely never go back plus your bucket will be completely full last a lot longer for only 2 bucks more!!! Also it brightens your whites to!! And I use a 1 pound box of baking soda it really adds that freshness for a lot longer and just a suggestion those tree pink scent beads don’t really keep a scent on your clothes 1 big bottle of downy bliss or romantic either or smells fantastic its alittle over not much more than what your spending on tree scent beads that really don’t smell after the dryer or a few hours the smell will no longer be there I’ve tried it and I got better results using the blue scent I gotta say it actually stayed on the clothes and it smells amazing after the dryer but hope you add some of my tips for the very best results and fragrance for not much more than what your spending now to have clothes that smell even in the closet a month later like you just washed them!!! You can’t beat that seriously!! Your still saving a good amount of money adding a few name brand scent beads or just one scent they go along way and really the more you mix your powder the downy bliss scent beads will actually Marinate in your laundry powder and just have the entire bucket smelling fantastic give it a good mix every couple of days and the downy scent beads you choose will marinate that scent into the powder!!! Ps don’t forget to add the 1 pound box of baking soda!!! It’s a game changer and my secret for towels is using pinsole in the main wash it doesn’t leave the smell behind but it some how fluffs up your towels and deep cleans them my towels smell like heaven and super soft and fluffy I get the name brand pinsole at dollar tree it’s a smaller size but you don’t use much so it lasts a good bit for what your paying I usually just grab 2 cuz I also add alittle to my clothes to get that fluff and it’s a cheaper way to Disinfect your clothes and towels but doesn’t leave the smell at all I use about 3/4 to each load now using pinsole on everything bcuz it also kills germs and viruses even Covid!!!! Look it up alot of people now use pinsole it’s crazy good!! Hope you add my little hacks you’ll definitely love it!! Good luck!! ❤️

Angela, I personally prefer the ROMA over the FOCA. Don't know if you have tried that. Thank you for the FYI on the pinesol.I knew it was a good disinfectant, just did not know about what it did for your towels.

I do the same recipe I just run it through my food processor I am just afraid the soap won't break down enough if I don't use hot water all the time but I love the detergent alot of my family all make it now ☺️

Hello, there, my friend, I know it's been a while since I have posted. Here's an update. Unfortunately, I had 3 family members pass and 1 in an accident that landed them in the hospital for a couple of months. All separate instances occurring over a short period of time, and its taken a major toll on me. I'm planning on my return at the beginning of August. I appreciate and thank you for your concern.

Yeah I feel powder is better. With liquid recipes I notice some other people having it seperate as well. Which if you make it in bulk could be a hassle for some.

Very true. Everytime I have tried it always separates and end up with qhat looks like a bunch of rocks I'm assuming it's minerals and the compounds that are in the products. And I didn't see that cleaning the clothes well even throwing everything that seperated together. But one thing I tried using it to clean and wash dishes, it really cleaned up the counters, the whole bathroom, and kitchen sink, so it did work out n didn't go to waste.

Yes. I would love to see instructions on air fresheners, fabric softener and hand soap. I’ve been making my own liquid detergent… But not with this recipe and I want to go with powder…

@Janice Nash, I do apologize for speaking too fast and everything. This was my first video and I was very nervous and it was awkward, carrying on a conversation, trying to stay calm, film, walk throw the steps of creating, and being confident in what I was doing, all the while never doing anything like this before. I still have a moment here and there. On June 3rd, It will be a year since filming and posting the video. It does get easier, with every new video you film and slowly but surely you start to not feel so vulnerable and exposed.

I got the bucket/container at Smart & Final. Depending on where you live, you may know of this store. The company has stores in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Northern Mexico. Thank you for taking the time to respond and watch my videos. I will be back very soon to a normal video dropping schedule again.

How about putting all that mix in a sturdy trashbag, close it and mix it as though kneading. Breathing in all those flying particles concern me.

That's a great idea, I've tried it and it has to be sturdy and preferably you should use several bags. I have torn a bag mixing it, so I use 2 or 3 to b on the safe side. You gotta be careful and pay good attention so you don't make a mess. I've done my fair share of mess making, and I know several people who have done the same. Thank you for the message and for taking the time to correspond with me, I appreciate it.

@@stirringitupwithj.c. my pleasure! I appreciate your time as well. I used 2 bags and it was okay with me. I would also let it sit for a bit so that it will all be settled. I am just saying this in case someone wants a different option. Thanks again!

Yes, I did realize that later on, this was my first video ever recording along with being nervous and trying to remember everything it was alot of pressure. But I think I've done much better over time. I still make mistakes, but I'm definitely not a nervous wreck like I was in the beginning. I do appreciate the comment and you taking the time to post it. Thank you!
