Homemade MREs

This video shows how I made MREs that are relatively cheap, and durable to be in various levels of heat and cold that may be in a car throughout a year. These meals are tailored to the needs and tastes of the individual.

Great video, making your own MRE should be way more popular considering the taste of the "real" MREs

Add a packet of raisins or other dried fruit or some freeze dried fruit. Dollar Tree has snack bags of freeze dried fruit. Regular mres are known for causing constipation, and yours seem to have the same issue. Add a snack size baggie with the salt, pepper, sugar, coffee creamer, and wet wipe.

Have you ever looked at Knorr packets? Garlic & Herb Sauce Mix, Butter flavored Noodle pks or Sun Bird Fried Rice (season Mix)... add rice, powdered eggs, and maybe something meat.

Those are good ideas depending on your water availability. I tried making things I can open and eat without needing much, if any true cooking. Sometimes a fire will attract unwanted attention from either the flame, or the smell. The nice thing about these is that you can put in whatever works for you, and what you know you will eat. I would keep the salt content in mind when making these too. You may not want too much, even though you’ll be sweating a lot and need to replace it.

OK... I understand that... your coffee and drink pks takes water, and Doctors says we humans can survive without water for about 3 days. As a Retired Survival Equipment Specialist (427X3), we train our pilots that water is a requirement to survive… rain drops, filtered lakes and ponds, drip method in the desert to drink.

You could add it to a pot over a fire if you wanted to heat it up, maybe with a little water, but it doesn’t need to be (which is why it is in the pack).
