Think she’s a little top heavy and that’s why there is a bit of a wobble. But best lathe build I’ve seen, so refreshing to see a large build that doesn’t need a lathe to make it. Must have taken you a long time. Great work full stop, end of. Brilliant! Liked and subscribed

I worked in machine shops for 40 years. I never used gloves when operating machinery with spinny parts! Drills, lathes, mills. I worked with a guy that lost half of his hand because of a glove. If the pillow bearings go bad, how will you change them? Spindle welded at both ends.

When you weld thick plate like that especially a but weld leave a gap the width of the bare metal of the rod your using between the plates I was a welder for 30 odd years. Amazing work by the way I have wanted to do something similar for years.

Seen a few af these “home made” builds but most of them gave lathes that only turned but had absolutely no precision. This looks great! Very very nice job, hope to see a lot more of your great work with mostly readily available materials. Thanks for sharing👍🏻

He was very good friend, it takes a lot of work I imagine, whoever watches the video thinks it is easy, but in reality you get to do it, it gets complicated.

Se que es muy difícil. Soy militar jubilado y nunca trabajé, ni estudié en ésta área, pero me atrae. Seguí otro camino, comercio y administración pero no era lo mío. Me hice militar más por necesidad que por convicción. Me jubilé hace casi 10 años. En la milicia estudié y aprendí algo de Inglés. Estudié y fui profesor en el área de Inglés, pero como la universidad del Ejército en la que estudie, en sus inicio había sido centro de capacitación técnica en todo lo relacionado a herrería, siempre me daba mis escapadas por los talleres y deseaba aprender, pero estaba inscrito en el área de la Electrónica y Comunicaciones. Me gusta algo enseñar, pero me gusta mucho más aprender. Tengo un cuarto repleto de libros de todo tipo. Me fascina la carpinteria, algo de la construcción, electricidad y electrónica algo aprendí, y mi tendencia a la implementación de herramientas. Estoy instalando un taller... aún es solo para uso de instrucción...personal...

So far your home made lathe machine is the best on YT, precise work, good and heavy built for last, but one thing I noticed about 3 pillow bearings, they are trapped at their location without the chances for replacement, you need to cut the shaft to take them out, over all you are good and your lathe is perfect example of homemade machines with basic available tools, I need to watch your video for more than couple of times to learn things of building one for my shop and my hobby related works, thank you for sharing your experiences.

You may want to see if you can get some housings made for taper roller bearings. Preloaded and well-lubricated, they should be significantly better than pillow block bearings.

@@AsencioAlex Hola Alex, yo también soy de España, y quería preguntarte qué tipo de rodamientos vas a poner en el cabezal. Y ya aprovecho y te pregunto si crees que las guías que ha utilizado en la cama para mover el carro, también podrían llegar a tener holguras.

@@antimiguel Hola Marcelino. Los que yo usé no te los aconsejo, acaban cogiendo holgura y te estropean las piezas y las cuchillas. Yo usé unos rodamientos que vienen con su cajetín, no se cómo se llaman, yo los conozco por quitacimbras. Ahora tengo que cambiarlos por unos cónicos.

@@antimiguel y en cuanto a las guías, no he tenido problema alguno, aunque quizás las reforzaría con un par de rodamientos lineales más, tanto para el movimiento transversal como el longitudinal

Good job. I see only 2 mistakes. 1. You weld both sides and U cant change bearings without cut. 2. You use a metric thread not trapezoidal thread. Metric can stuck. Except that is nice.

Sorry for late reply. I have fixed the shaft that is welded on both sides. and there is a project that will put the taper bearing but haven't had time to do it yet Thank you very much for viewing my work.

Sieht gut aus das Teil. Aber ein Konstruktionsfehler ist doch dabei. Wenn beide Flansche angeschweißt sind, lassen sich die Lager nicht mehr tauschen.

dimensions of the bed = 21x90cm.

Interesting the project, but buy a good mig, this one without gas makes a horrible weld. And that kind of buzzhousing.

Only in the hands of a bad welder. Gasless mig is used by industry world wide for mig welding outdoors. That's what it was designrd for and gives perfectly good welds in the right hands.

Из за того что он руками крутит, и нет авто подачи? Этому станку электронную гитару надо делать есть проекты на arduino и ставить шаговый двигатель на продольную подачу, тогда можно резать резьбы и много чего интересного.

The overall machine is stable when working. But the spindle head deflects a bit and needs to be fixed first to be better.

เพลา32มิลมีครับแต่จะหาลูกปืนยากหน่อยของผมใช้เป็นตลับเพลายืน​ ucp207ครับ​ แต่หากถ้ามีเพลาใหญ่กว่าที่ผมใช้จะดีมากมันจะไม่สั่น​ แนะนำนะครับควรใช้เป็นเตเปอร์แบริ่งจะดีมากมันจะเสถียรเวลากลึงครับ​ แต่ถ้าประหยัดงบทำแบบที่ผมทำมันก็ประหยัดดีครับกลึงงานออกมาพอรับได้ครับ

ปากจับและชุดใบมีดผมซื้อจากlazada ส่วนของที่เหลือเช่นพวกรางสไลด์และเหล็กผมซื้อมือสองจากร้านรับซื้อของเก่า เรื่องงบประมาณผมหมดไป7000กว่าๆ มันแพงที่ปากจับกับชุดใบมีดครับ

poor pully alignment combined with pillow block bearings equals shit accuracy, repeatability.. seems like a waste of time and materials, unless you plan on just machining parts with poor tolerances.
