Homemade Jabba the Hutt Throne/Dais (for Star Wars The Black Series)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I'll show you how I put together a throne for the Star Wars The Black Series Jabba the Hutt. I have Jabba on the way (thanks to my two kids) and I wanted to build a throne for him. I thought it would look so much better than just having him on the shelf. I had most of the materials at home already. I probably spent no more than 15 bucks on everything else. This was fun to do, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. #starwars #diy #jabbathehutt #throne #blackseries #dais #homemade #jabbaspalace

    Jabba should be the same size as the original - a little over 11 inches long. This is 13 inches long. There should be enough room for Jabba, the railing, and the hookah. I think it will be fine.

    Hi Matt, I just subscribed to your channel and I have to thank you in so many ways! First, I absolutely love your figure reviews - all of them! You give such great insight and I have basically have followed your advice during the last couple of years prior to purchasing certain figures. Every time I go ahead and finally purchase one, I always end up saying "Matt was dead on!" I can definitely relate to you as you had entered Black Series collecting at a later stage (as I did starting in Nov. 2019). I also enjoy when you are a guest with the Out of The Basement boys during Lazy Chat Sundays! Your overall demeanor and thoughts are appealing as you bring a good amount of common sense to any discussed topic. Now, what I wanted to specifically thank you for is this particular video of Jabba's Dais! You have a great looking Dais and all the hard work you put into it really really shows! Wow! I actually built my own Dais by following a good number of points in your video. I used a lot of ideas from your experience but also a lot of ideas from Fwoosh's 2014 Article "Dio in a Day". By using references from Fwoosh and references from your video, I managed to build my own unique Dais. I am so far from being an creative artist but after hours of following your tips (and his tips), I managed to build a very satisfying Dais for my new Jabba (which came from Hasbro Pulse this past week). It is a little harder to collect here as I live in Canada (with availability issues and shipping costs) but I needed Jabba on the shelf and the Dais makes such a big difference in the way it looks. One last thing, Matt - the MOST impressive thing that you ever said from your videos/online presence had nothing to do with figures or material things at all. I think it was mentioned in your next video on receiving Jabba. In any case, it was your sure utmost respect and acknowledgement for your kids (as they bought you Jabba for Father's Day). What you said about them was a display of love and gratitude and I was so impressed! It is so nice to see people like yourself here on KZread having fun, sharing smart/common sense ideas, and being overall genuine in many ways! Sorry, but I needed to give you full credit as you so deserve. Please keep the videos coming as I watch and use them a lot! Your youtube contributions help me so much in being a collector! Take care and all the best moving forward! God Bless. Paul.

    Top modeling M!! 😍 What's next? Use the same materials and principles and do Jabba-dabba-doo's arch. Try a plumbers blow-torch on the foam and 'lick' it with the flame. It seals the porous texture of polystyrene and is easier to paint. That's how I did the walls on my diorama buildings and they do end up looking like stone. 😊

    @@Matt_Bryant Works brilliantly on polystyrene as long as you don't fully set fire to it!! I then used wall filler (plaster which you use to fill smaller holes before decorating) to smooth over it. Might not be as good with foam, but worth a go.

  • @jonathanhampshire6856

    @jonathanhampshire6856

    Great job there Matt. You must be chuffed with how it turned out. The more porous polystyrene is good for rough work, making hills an such, that you can then cover in fake grass or snow. That pink insulation foam looks like extruded polystyrene which is denser. You can draw patterns or cracks on that with a pencil or biro. To make it look like rough stone, get a small rock and press it into the foam at different angles. 👍👍👍
