I badly needed to make a lot of permanently legible labels for my pigeon hole storage boxes, and this pantograph did the job perfectly !
Жүктеу.....

Genius idea using the milling machine. I have a pillar drill, which wouldn't be as precise, but still might be accurate enough.

If your pillar drill has a big enough table to accommodate two vices, you're good to go !

Liked this one and can imagine many uses. Also I think you could sell pdf plans for this. Since the hole positions are critical I was thinking by drawing it in CAD at one to one or actual size the users of your plans could print out the plan in an inkjet printer and then adhere or paste the printout to the aluminum stock, thereby obtaining near perfect registration on the hole positions for centerpunching and drilling.

Sounds like a good idea, policedog4030, but I have no intention of selling plans for it, although you are welcome to if you like.

Very kind of you, I noticed the 267,000 views and thought even if just 10% bought your pdf plan download file it might be worth your while. The "Make once, Sell Many" principle; a win win for both buyer and seller even if you sold them for a dollar or three or thirty - still a deal for someone who wants to make the project.@@confabrication

I'm thinking about adapting this design for a pantograph for my powerplasma cutter. It will be great for cutting steel designs.

I don't see why not - although it would take a bit of work. Seems like an idea worth considering.

Yes, Mr Factotum, the pantograph itself certainly is, but you might need a better cutter, ideally H.S.S. Also you would have to proceed a bit slower of course.

Great idea Sir So you made your own master letters from stencils? That is great if you did because those letters are expensive by themselves.
