Ball park numbers, Air is about 1kg/m3 and is at room temperature (~300 Kelvin) Dry ice is about -88C (212 Kelvin, 44g./mol, comparable to air). Practically this means to lower the room temperature by 10C means the final atmosphere will be about 10 % carbon dioxide. That will be fatal in about 30 minutes.

No, you'll get that temperature by using less dry ice than 10% of the atmosphere (after evaporization), because of the enthalpy. It takes away extra heat from the envinorment to change the consistency of the dry ice from a solid to a gas.

If safety really was your number one priority, you would be wearing gloves when handling dry ice, and you should know of the safety concerns of using fans to blow around dry ice fumes in a confined space. Its just dangerous. If anyone decides to do this project at home, use normal ice, NOT DRY ICE!

to people who are saying co2 is not that harmful there is at least 2 kg of dry ice in the bucket which is about 2000/44.1 = roughly 45.45 moles of CO2 which at STP will occupy 1000 ltrs of volume so there is quite a lot of CO2 there
